it's for pocket watches for what you state. It was never designed for wristwatches because it not needed in them it's in wristwatches for strictly show and to up the price that's it

You're right, that's a very important distinction, they're mostly only useful to reduce positional accuracies when the watch (or pocke watch) is sitting in ONE position (which won't be often in a wrist watch since you move it around so much).

I do believe, like a power reserve on an automatic watch, that a tourbillon on a wrist worn timepiece is a useless complication.

@@billbrown4745 one might make the argument that the multiaxis tourbillon could help having better accuracy. And one would probably answer that 6 figures to still be worse than a high accuracy quartz is still useless.

Turns out They don’t actually appear to do anything at all….but that’s not really the point is it!

It does nothing to fight gravity...it was designed for pocket watches than hang all day.

Tourbillion was designed for pocket watches. Not wrist watches. Totally unnecessary but seems nice to see it function.

One of the better tourbillons under $1K is the Sugess Tourbillon Master. I have one that is over a year old and its reliable, extremely accurate and is a beautiful watch!

It’s just a flex, nothing else. Completely useless complication otherwise. But looks a lot better than having your bank statement stapled to your forehead
