Usually penthouse are more for single or couples. And everything is about location. No families will ever live In this neighborhood. herzog and de meuron are prime architect they know the business
No kidding. It seems you're paying for the neighborhood and views, because the space is awkward, cramped, and fairly unpleasant. "Lipstick on a pig," is what came to mind.
I’ve been there in person, I understand people can’t comprehend £4mill for a 2 bed. But you have to understand, videos do not do this place justice. You’re not paying for the amount of bedrooms, you’re paying for the location. You’re paying for the safety (Canary Wharf have their own security, Canary Wharf is owned by Qataris, they don’t mess around! When they do something, they do it properly, so you know you’ll be safe. The amenities in the building are one of the best I’ve ever seen.
Hi Toby, must comment on the stairs, wow, that is class, the open living space is great, kitchen layout is stylish with that wooden panelling and hidden door, ceiling heights is great, BUT …. SOMEONES vision on interior design is not everyone’s cup of tea, sadly I just do not get it….. overall great apartment, it can be spectacular…? Great content mate, cheers.
Love the design, the white and wood (sort of Anglo-Scandi), tasteful art, height/views, etc and well-presented. But... location, location, location. Being up high can be great but CW, eh, maybe not, plus I could hear a bit of street noise before Toby even opened the door to step outside, then it was louder.
Have a chance to live in Herzog & de Meuron woth this amount and it was lovely tour I’ve watch 3 times🙌🏻🌿💚 thanks for great tours and valuing the Architecture 👌🏼
Between you presenting and the good camera man/woman you really sold this place. I have seen a couple of other presentations, and this is the only one that didn't make it seem like it shouldn't be lived in. Nice work.
Property prices are too high these days - ridiculous prices being set. I like some of interior of this apartment, but not other bits. I particularly like the bathroom - style of the sinks, taps, matching shower & kitchen area, the unusual D-shaped atrium (correct name?)... Like the wardrobes - bit like mine, but just a teeny weeny bit taller ... give or take a few feet (! 🙂) - and not many people in London have * that * kind of view. Spectacular. I think they could have done better re: interior design with this particular apartment, but for anyone looking for a property (with enough money) or anyone interested in interior design, Toby Corban's videos are worth watching.
That shelving in the 2nd bedroom looks like something out of IKEA. and why is the oven so low in the kitchen? And a cork bed? WTF! A disaster of design..
Horrible design for £5m, plus probably a very high monthly service charge. Canary Wharf has no soul (I lived there for 2 years), it feels like an Asian Central Business District where people only go to work. It's surrounded by deprived areas like Poplar, Isle of Dogs, Limehouse. If I had £5m to spare I'd rather go near Angel or Clerkenwell / Bloomsbury you can easily get a nice 2 bed - if you are lucky with a freehold/share of the freehold.
Toby - love your other video's, but this apartment was horrible! Tiny and SO loud when you walked out on the balcony that you almost had to shout to hear you. Wouldn't pay $50 for it.
