I LOVED your millennial money video. The fact is: people WANT to see how much you make. Millennials are nosey 😂 You and Monica are some of the smartest people on RU-vid and there is nobody else like y’all. Love you so much! Thank you for sharing ❤
I really appreciate your transparency!! I love every time you just tell us the cost or how much you made on something, I have a lot more trust in you and your sister because of your honesty
You have nothing to explain or justify, Shelby. Such inspiring, entertaining and education content; I appreciate you so much. You are talented and hard-working!! Congrats on that phenomenal year and on your MM video. Here's to the best 2023 you can create, Shelby!
As one of your older viewers, I can tell you your instinct to be transparent is the right one. That is one thing I so respect about your generation, when you work hard and do well, you should own it and be proud of it. I was taught never to talk about money and it was the absolute wrong lesson to teach young women (at that time). Which is why we read all these terrible stories of widows and older people that get to retirement age and have nothing to show for it. Be very proud of your accomplishments, you earned them yourself with your own hard work. Not that it matters, but I am proud of you! :)
Basically your RU-vid success is like having a small business, you have built it up over the years. Men don’t try to downplay their success and you shouldn’t either, congratulations 🎉
Small tip for your workouts...an easier way to hold that dumbbell. Look up "goblet squat" and the way the dumbbell is held. It's held closer to the body, supported in the palm of the hands, and hangs straight down. It keeps the weight closer to the center line of your body, so there's less stress on your back and your arms.
Ok. Gotta say it. Quit talking yourself down. You worked hard for what you have. You are smart enough to run a kick ass business. You didn’t do anything wrong. You kicked ass.
I've never gotten the vibe from you that you love Seattle enough to lease another apartment after your current lease is up. Your whole aura changes when you're in CA.
You earned the money...no.need to justify yourself. Be confident about it. And not everyone can do you tube that people want to watch...so be proud of what you do!!
I love your dedication to detail in the Millennial Money video. I watched it first on Graham's channel, then yours. You did a fabulous job. I liked that first black and white shearling sweater best. Enjoy your trip, which I am sure you're back from by now. 🙂
Shelby!!! 1) loved this vlog (per usual) and am psyched for future apartment videos!, and 2) the CNBC-esque video was truly one of your best videos!!! You worked SO hard on it, and it shows!!! You’re so talented. And you should be proud of how far you’ve come bother professionally and monetarily (and especially since us long-time followers have seen the years of work it’s taken to get to this point). Congrats to you! You’re an inspiration! 🌟💖
Eek, so excited about the podcast! 100% will listen while on a walk - as I always do with my podcasts. Also super excited to see your Europe vlogs and really hoping you had a chance to go to that certain restaurant in London that I will not name yet again 😂
Shelby... anyone that starts ragging on you or leaving rude comments, is just jealous. Screw 'em. You have spent over a decade building your business on cool info and cool stories. Proof is in the pudding. Bask in it girl! 😎
I think we need to get away from the taboo of talking about money. My best friend and I talk about money all the time and i think it’s why we’re as close. We need to cheer people on, especially when they reach this kind of success. Congratulations!🎉🍾
Congrats on how well the Millennial Money video did. Really happy for you and vlog viewers know how hard you work for that money. I hope the comments were good.
On the contrary, I started watching your videos because of your work ethic and inquisitive nature. They inspired me to get more done in my day when I saw how much you can get done. I also appreciate how you are open to re-inventing yourself and evolving your photography and videography as you gain more experience. Cheers.
🇬🇧 having only commented once under your videos, and it was about fashion, here I am again and again it’s about fashion! You looked great in the red jumper🫶🏻👌🏼👌🏼and all the other items you chose look fabulous on you; are more of a style statement (for your age)than what you usually wear please keep it up 👍🏼
shelby I respect you so much for how open and honest you are about everything that goes into your channel. not a lot of influencers out there do it quite like you! I hope you continue for many years to come 😊 or at minimum inspire other creators to do the same 🫶💞
Luv all the sweaters on u - the red and the pink tops look so good on u - b proud of what u do and what u make - the job I currently work at - our plant mgr if female and I feel so proud of that - u do u Shelby!!!
Great vlog! You work so hard on your content, the fact that you do it on your own makes everything even more impressive, and honestly I hope it inspires other people to see what they can achieve. I used vacuum bags on a trip where I just took a carry-on they were amazing super helpful! I was wondering - have you ever considered getting the color match thing where they see what colors suit you best for clothing? Because that pink top the color looked so good on you and just made your eyes pop! The 2 bedroom you toured was so nice! An idea to consider would be to get the 2-bed and use the second bedroom as your office and podcast space. Have you thought about filming your podcasts? You could do a really fun podcast background in that second room if you were to lean towards that. A separate workspace may be nice so the rest of your space is just for relaxing.
I saw that video Shelby and I thought it was good and it show how hard you work to make a great video and don't let anyone tell it was not a good video.
You really are amazing Shelby and you have a lot of write offs! You definitely are inspiring and Not Braggy. I love the second apartment and wow that red top you rented is fabulous on you!
The necklace you got is a classic tiffany design. I had one custom made 25 years ago. It will always be in style. I layer mine with other necklaces or wear by itself if I want a more minimal look.
I’m glad you made your income video!! You’re right we do need more from women in the income transparency space. I make an annual income report video about my income as a designer in tech + content creator too. I’m nowhere near on your level tho! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Have you considered getting a realestate license so you can just schedule properties and search yourself? Its not a super hard process, could just do some studying during the evening until youre ready to test.
Let the haters hate! 🙄 From your vlogs you work hard and are passionate in what you do. I'm 60 and have learned so much from adventures!! Hopefully your brother is doing well and have some good job prospects in the queue.
Thank you so much for sharing your video! I am truly inspired! Wish I would have grown up in the age of RU-vid. Guess it's not too late, I'm only 51😁 Now how to figure out what passion I want to share....and how I can benefit myself and others. Time for some brain storming. BTW, I'm in Seattle too! Moved from Kansas City, MO to here. So much happier!
I felt cool because it’s also gloomy where I am on the day I’m watching this and because I use Nuuly too 😂 oh I hundred percent agree that the millennial money video was one of the best videos you’ve ever made and that I’ve ever seen. I don’t think you were defensive or anything. Those vacuum bags saved me when I moved halfway across the country, it was the only way I was able to bring all my stuff 😂 Excited for Europe vlogs or snippets of the trip!
i thought your main channel video was so entertaining! agree it was one of your best ever. did i miss what the name of the podcast is? i love the idea of one to listen to specifically while on a walk!
you know Shelby you are a really kind humble girl a lot of the youtubers I watch always have made it a point to wear unattainable brands or just maintained lifestyles I couldn't aspire to. and the whole format of your channel is geared to self improvement and done in this relatable approach which I highly appreciate. At the same time even my own perspective on your content can get a bit negative during bad moments but its like all social media I generally love seeing my friends succeed have great vacations relationships upgrades whatever it may be but there is times in which you feel discouraged by comparison which also I fell it is encouraging watching what is possible for someone much like me, so I'd say don't take it too personally if ppl are rude on your comments of this new video. like I enjoy you showing simple things like meals and grocery shopping hearing your thoughts on socialising it makes me feel less alone with little daily struggles that can feel sometimes quite overwhelming.
I'm planning on doing carry-on only for an upcoming trip, because if you check in a large suitcase there's a huge risk of it getting lost at the moment. It seems to be a big problem
My husband and I are very light packers but we recently went on a 6 month trip to Zambia so we needed to bring a lot of our stuff. Those vacuum bags were a lifesaver!!!
The idea of Good Diplomacy is making a Point without making an Enemy. Haters are not dedicated Enemies and should be looked at as potential Fans that are just a little confused.
I watched your "Millennial Money" video, and it was great! As an "elder" (35 yo) millennial, I enjoy seeing your and Monica's videos and seeing the youngin's figuring it out and succeeding. PS. Walking is great exercise! I have two corgis I walk every day and I am an archaeologist, so I walk a lot doing survey :D
I’m manifesting making that much a yr from YT! But we all do see how hard you work! All RU-vidrs work hard❤ I’m super nervous about the business aspect of it! 😊
Shelby, you are definitely a 🏆🏆. You have motivated and inspired me to start my RU-vid Channel along with filming and uploading consistently. I thank you so much for what you do and allowing all of us to be apart of your journey.
$950,000.00 a year gross income, good for you. The 2 bed flat you videoed is great. Look out for Paris which is normally the best, but big strike and maybe revolution at the beginning of May.
