I just stumbled upon this video! You both are SO fun!! So I’m 36 and I started collecting Pyrex in my early 20’s. Back in the early/mid 2000’s Pyrex was CHEAP! Even the turquoise, pink, promos and HTF pieces! I had an impressively LARGE collection!! I married my husband, we tried to start a family but bc of infertility issues, we decided to adopt. SO I sold off 93% of my collection, starting around 2013. Over the course of a couple years, I ended up making 4 times the amount I paid for all the Pyrex bc it was starting to become super popular! I now look at people’s beautiful collections and swoon over them bc I used to have all those pieces! I had all the ones mentioned in this video that were wish pieces…starburst, eyes and I still have stems! HOWEVER, my two adopted children were well worth the sacrifice! And now, 10 years later, I’m in a position to start hunting again! Someday I will have an impressive collection again but I’ll enjoy the hunting and searching along the way!! ❤❤

Just saw this neat video! I had planned on selling my collection ( I use to have big holiday dinners at my home and used them every time, they were my mom's) for $30. each for a set of 4-5 with lids, I think I have four sets? I have the blue flower and some others plus I have a clear glass collection with lids (a lot older not sure of the maker). I have asked my daughter if she would like some, so we shall see, I just sent her this video.

This was weirdly interesting! Who knew! I'm officially vintage but not collectable 🤷‍♀️. RU-vid seems to have blocked my main comment - not because it contained anything nefarious (of course 🤔) but because I'd tried to add a non-pyrex related link that I thought may peak La Baguette's (🐈🌟) interest about P-22, your 'local' celebrity mountain lion on today's BBC News app. See, though we're only likely to encounter a grumpy badger or mangey fox in our neck of the woods, we do like to keep up with random happenings across the world!!

One of the big reasons southern California is getting a big influx of Pyrex is because they are taking semi loads of stock from far northern california and bringing it south, just like they bring us your Gucci and LV and coach and labels we dont have in our area.... I have a few Pyrex pieces myself and love them! I only have a few so that I can think of my late mother when I’m cooking. It’s fun to collect things HOWEVER, when one does not even have a tiny spot left in their home to put their 100th piece of Pyrex it’s ridiculous IMO. We will leave this earth the same way we came-with NOTHING! Unfortunately, ALL the paint on the exterior of vintage Pyrex pieces contains a high amount of lead, which of course is a heavy metal and dangerous to our health!! Every time you touch it, it’s getting on your hands and is absorbed through your skin. Lead does not just nicely pass through your body. It settles in bone. Joint pain could be an indication that you have lead! Heavy metals disrupt the endocrine system, causing problems with hormones and even having a hard time losing weight and so on…”
