This flat has been on and off the market for years. Priced waaaaaaaay too high when compared to the flats in Lauderdale etc. (which have fabulous views and are under half the asking price of this). Failed to sell at 3.5 a couple of years ago so strange to see it up at 4.5 now. Was on one of the very early Grand Designs decades ago. The Barbican is a fabulous place to live.
Not sure most people would appreciate this apartment given the usual apartments/homes styles in the UK but to me this is an architectural master piece! Not surprised to know the owners are architects! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 by far my favourite home you’ve toured.!
Now this is a flat! Stunning spaces, a cool vibe, easy access to London. Not a bloody shoe box. This is what a city flat should be! I would be extremely happy with this as my London pad. One improvement might be some sort of roof or conservatory over the garden space to remove some noise and improve the times of the year you can use it.
This Apartment was featured in a TV competition called 'Britains Best Home' about 10 or 12 years ago! It didn't win the Best Home Competition, but personally I think it should have! As it is a seriously amazing place! Awesome tour, I'm really really happy to see it in much more detail than was shown on the TV! Thanks a lot!
I have to admit, when Matt & Summer switched in Jas & Tom I felt a bit miffed and I've even replied to a comment below saying I prefer M&S but Jas & Tom do indeed have a similar style to Matt & Summer. Tom and Matt really look like each other, nice family resemblance. Growing on me.
I didn't know they switched when I first watched, I was racking my brain trying to work out why the presenters looked so different from the previous time I had watched them. 🤣
The outside of this place looks horrible. Was this a council house? The views from the inside include kids playground and large rubbish collection area for the building. Sure the interior design is nice, albeit the space is dark and lacks natural light given the ground floor location.
It's bloody horrible. It wasn't even cleaned before they arrived. Imagine scraping your face on the half finished stone walls. Looks cold and damp too. No.
Sorry its a no from me .. The outside area was bleak . Would you really go and sit outside there with a cuppa in the morning ..ermm noo And the views from the windows .. bins . car park, no wonder they did frosted glass . Saying that if it had been a pent house on the top floor with a nice seating area over looking London it would have been far better and not so dark and grim . So Nahh I'll keep my money (if I had that much) :/
4.5m for a fancy dark bunker in the middle of busy-traffic-roads of London. Windows covered with frosted vinyl to avoid lack of privacy, but losing any short of views (to a road though). The only good thing about this place is the location, but for 4.5m you can get something better. It's a good place for a vampire, though. Nice video.
As I'm a big skyline guy I'm going to need to watch that that intro 3 times and concentrate better because there's 3 points of interest there and I couldn't decide where I wanted for focus my attention.
I have question. What is walking in wardrobe What is walking in closet What is dressing room Are they their same or different. Is it sill all these with doors on them and mirror on them.
I would call the one in here a walk-through wardrobe, because let’s be honest, it’s just a wardrobe with a wall in front of it. Walk-in wardrobes are full rooms, however small, usually with storage on all sides (minus the door ofc). I think closet is American English for wardrobe.
A house's better. She's beautiful but still i don't like purple, someday i will come to change that color to be more awesome ! She's beautiful indeed 🌐🇬🇧❤️
She keeps focusing the camera on the guy rather than the room. It's like she's enjoying the room but forgetting the viewers would like to enjoy it as well!
I love how the barbican looks like any old concrete council high-rise of the era, but not dilapidated and covered in graffiti because only rich people were ever allowed to live there.
Not entirely true - it was originally for City "workers" (white and blue collar) but you're quite right that over the following decades, as people sold and central London prices rose, it became unaffordable for most. Average price for a 1-bed flat (e.g. type 20) is currently around 850-950k.
Matt & Summer are doing regular stuff on their vlog channel and are now in Australia. I much prefer Matt & Summer too but hey ho. M&S have decided to have Jas and Tom do the UK tours, even though J&T have their own channel.
it looks and feels depressing inside, and looking outside from the windows to see the dumping bins, not much privacy either, but I understand, it is in central London if that's where you want to live 😒
