It cracks me up what people say about the processes that our food goes through. If these apples were not put through this process they would go bad after a short time, because of this process they can last for over a year. Hurray for feeding the world! I'd rather eat apples that have a slight taste difference than not eat any at all.
Sorry, but I buy my apples from farmers markets and they taste like REAL apples. That plants apples taste like shit because what they do to the apples is in no way natural.
sfbluestar That's a good question, and there's no need for concern. It's not like candle wax, or something odd like that. It makes the apple look shiny, which people like and it helps them to last longer, which is a good thing, right? You can wash it off and personally I usually wash my produce, but not because I don't the wax, but because I watch kids in groceries stores wipe their noses with their hands and then touch the produce bins.
+sfbluestar Its better to peel off the skin and then eat !!! For all the dumb people out there, this wax doesn't comes off with washing ........ uterly fools !!
+Majo Vedeš an mine wont have ben tumble a thousand hundred times on a conveyor belt before i get to eat it,such bad energy,i guess they are help feeding people apples which is good but, more people need to grow there own! just bought my first apple tree, and asian pear tree
+Ernesto Simbulan Most apples don't go from the orchard to the grocery store. The apples you are eating today were harvested last Fall (Aug/Sept) - they store them in Controlled atmosphere rooms where they can keep for 12 months or more (depending on the variety)
