I could watch apartment tours all day!! Thanks for the video girl! Moving to Australia next week from the UK & so nervous but excited! Keep smashing the content 🧡
I love how simple and clean the apartments look! I'm in Los Angeles and rents have finally started going down too. Glad I came across you! It's so fun to tour apartments even if it's virtually. I'm also a fan of natural light and its mood lifting benefits! New here and just joined! :)
We just moved to Melbourne from QLD. We were limited because we have 2 cars so ended up a little further out of the city then I would like, but excited for a new adventure! Definitely still adjusting to the weather 😅
Aww so excited for your new adventure, welcome to Melbourne!! Haha omg yes the weather is a huge adjustment - I have to dress in layers and carry an umbrella at all times 😂thanks for watching this video Christine!
It is insane how different you can live in different cities and countries in general. I am from Germany and here this kind of flats are extremely rare. You might find them in the biggest cities but will spend a fortune (for average german income) and be very lucky if you got them before anyone else! The average flats are of a way older standard - Berlin is actually extremely expensive, but if you are happy to find a flat, it will most likely be very small, dark and old, but definitely not as beautiful old as the "older" flat you are showing :D
Oh wow! So interesting to know what it’s like in Germany! Thanks so much for sharing!! I love reading these types of comments and finding out how these apartments in melbourne compare
Omg I love looking at apartments online it’s so interesting 😂 Melbourne housing is slightly cheaper than Sydney so it’s interesting comparing the spaces you’ve shown. I also get affected by the weather as well! It’s getting colder now 🥲
This is really exciting! I love apartment hunting. I found a place in the suburbs and was surprised how cheap we got our place for. The first kitchen looks so incredible! The 3rd one has amaaazing floorboards and really feels so open with all the light colours! Totally agree with the sink and stove issue. It could also be a hazard. I like to wash my dishes while cooking. The final one has an amazing kitchen and love all the trees in the windows! Looking forward to the apartment tour!
Aw thanks so much!! That's great that you could find a cheap place!! Rent prices are crazy right now! I was sooo tempted by the first haha if only it was a little bit bigger to fit my desk :( That's so true - I also wash my dishes while cooking, didn't think of that aspect! Aw thanks so much, the apartment tour will be dropping soon haha
This is definitely a video I need to make because I have been looking for apartments and since I’m 19 and going to be living by myself for the first time!!!!
I wish I could live by myself but here in Canada where every apartment costs like 3k a month to rent and every house costs over 1.3 million moving out is a vivid dream. Fun fact most people under 40 who haven’t bought their first home gave up the idea of moving out. The reason I’m watching this video is because Australia was the next best and cheapest choice lol
This is so interesting to see the spaces in Melbourne... I like the number four for the view and omg the lighting in your study will be great for filming haha 😍
Ahh love this type of video! I enjoy looking up apartments online 😂 apartment 3 has such beautiful view! But I agree that the sink being next to the stove, having no space for a dish rack is inconvenient. And omg I know that there are so many factors that affect rental prices but here in San Francisco, some people pay 1500usd only for a room, so crazy 😅
So happy you enjoyed this, Jasmine!! 💗Hahaha I definitely enjoy scrolling through apartments as well loll oh wow!! interesting to know about the prices in san fran!!
Congratulations on signing a lease for your new place! Thanks for taking us with you on your apartment hunt:) I love these types of videos and appreciated that you included info like pricing, which I’m always so curious about! I can’t wait for your moving/ apartment deco content:)
Ahh this is so exciting! I love the kitchen and open space in the first apartment! Yes I feel like it would be so hard to have a sink right next to the stove, I've never seen that before! The 5th apartment has so much open space too! Good luck with your move, so excited to see how you end up decorating!
Aw thanks so much, Michelle! The first one was honestly so tempting - it was such a great location as well and perfect kitchen!! Same here, first time seeing the sink right next to the stove haha thank you so much! Empty apartment tour will be dropping soon :)
Moving into a new apartment will be so exciting! I really like apartment #4. That view is so pretty! I’m also looking to move as well and good lighting is very important to me. I can’t wait to see which apartment you end up picking! Excited for the empty apartment tour! 🤗❤️
Thanks so much girl, we are so excited to settle into the new place!! So great that you'll also be moving soon!! Aw thanks! Empty apartment tour will drop soon haha 💗 💗
Hahaha i think i'm the only one who thinks in terms of weekly rent! Thanks so much Libby!! Glad you enjoyed this :) And yes - that view was beautiful!!
Ahhh I would love to live in Melbourne for at least a year one day 😭 the prices of the rent in Melbourne compared to when I lived in nyc is definitely much cheaper! All the apartments you looked at had amazing views and looked really modern. Bathroom and kitchen are the main points for me, especially having counter space haha. Can’t wait to see which one you guys end up going with! Hope you get your own room for working hehe 🥰
Omg that would be amazing!! I think you would love this city! :) Aw thanks Tiffany!! Yes totally agree haha - kitchen and bathroom are so important! Thanks again for watching 😍
Hi beautiful. I'm loving the aesthetic vibes to your channel. Happy to support you. I love that you shared all details of the apartments. All the apartmemts were very nice. I love that you toured each one..Apartment 3 and 4 , I loved!!! I cannot wait to see the update and see what you guys chose🙌🏽
We have just done the same, moved to North Melb to save some $$ we are paying $40 a week less rent and are so much closer to everything we need to be! It really is a renters market at the moment! Loved the vid and am going to watch any follow ups now to see the place you chose :)
So exciting!! Apartment hunting always makes me sooo excited!! The presentation was incredible, I really liked the view in apartment 3 and 4! I hope you managed to find and choose the best apartment for your needs! :)
Hey Jamie, your videos have been so helpful. We're about to move to Melbourne and I was a bit nervous about starting over, trying to make friends etc, but your videos have now made me excited! Thank you for sharing all about Melbourne. Maybe I'll run into you on the street there one day ❤️
I'm so happy you've been finding my videos helpful, seriously the best feedback haha tall the best for your move to Melbourne!! That's so exciting 😍Where are you moving from?
@@SundayswithJamie Thank you! We're looking in areas like Brunswick, Collingwood, Richmond? But honestly, we've barely spent any time in Melbourne so if you have any recommendations we'd love some
Wow so exciting that ur moving to a new place!!! I can’t wait to see the place u guys settled on as well as the whole move in process and tour!! My favorite apartment is number 4 because the big window and views! It’s very bright and looks very luxurious haha! 😍😍❤️
Love this video Jamie!! I really like either apartment #4 or #5. I hope that your move goes well and I can`t wait to see the one you chose, apartment videos are my fav ☺️💗
I'm looking into maybe move to Melbourne towards the end of the year. Found this interesting and helpful. Hope you ended up finding the right place. Xo
Ahhh I loved this video so much 😍 house hunting and real estate are my absolute jam and I loved seeing how places are over there. I cannot wait to see which one you selected😭😭 but honestly all of them seemed to have their pros and cons. I loved the big kitchen in the last one, I get so frustrated with little counter space so I know that wouldve been a huge point for me. But agreed that the bathroom in the bedroom is awkward for guests hahaha, great video Jamie❣️👍
Aww thanks so much, Nicole!! So happy you enjoyed this! I know right - so many pros/cons to consider haha and yes!! I was really drawn to that big counter space especially after I had so little! Appreciate you watching!! 😍 💗
ah omg so excited and happy to see this video ! i have always been very interested in real estate ! ive been looking at Melbourne’s real estate in the past year so this video is right up my alley 🤩✨ hope everything goes well with your move and lease !
Thanks Marina! I’ll definitely keep that in mind if I do another one of these videos 😊 Lmk if you’re interested in any apartment in particular and I can let you know which suburb it’s in
@@SundayswithJamie you are welcome! I wish I was but I don't live in Melbourne anymore 😕 I am in Athens Greece now but I love watching videos from youtubers back home and when they mention the areas I like it because I can relate right away!
Hello Jamie, I just found your video and thought it was very nice to watch! Love it! I'm moving to Melbourne soon from Malaysia and looking for an affordable apartment to rent - basically with the same budget as you have. Just wondering if you could share the location for number 1 and number 4? I really liked those two!!
Thanks so much Jinyi! The location for apartment number 1 was Carnegie and number 4 was a Box Hill ☺️all the best for your move to Melbourne, how exciting!
Oh wow, the first apartment is so pretty! I love how the lobby has hotel vibes and everything looks so modern inside! Such a plus that it’s walking distance to so many places ☺️ WOW, the view is so gorgeous in apartment 3! These are all really great options! Ahh, I would totally love to visit Melbourne one day! Congrats on signing your lease! I’m so excited to see which one you guys ended up with!❤️
Aww thanks so much Cleo!! Empty apartment tour dropping soon haha yes!! Loved the first apartment so much - just wish it had been a little bit bigger but otherwise thought it was perfect!!
I am the same I do not drive and get around via public transportation or walking. Oh gosh yes living off a park is NICE! But yeah that sink and stove situation is weird. Don't think I would like a curved dinning room either or having people walking through my bedroom to get to the bath. And yes excited to see what you picked, new subbier here from NYC, hope we can connect and looking forward to the revel of the new place! 👍 💕 😊
I’m watching this video is because when it comes to moving out in Canada I literally have no other choice because everything is so overpriced so Australia is where I have ended up looking at
Hahah these places were a lot more spacious than my previous apartment! Would love to know which city you live in - assuming places are larger/better value?
That's so exciting, Maddie! No worries at all - glad you found this helpful. I think finding the area that you feel comfortable (and safe) in, knowing what your priorities are (e.g. close to transport) and taking your time to buy furniture (so many great deals on FB marketplace)! Also - making sure you really get along with your housemates :)
Hahaha I loved those apartments!! Honestly the kitchen in#6 was perfect, just couldn't get over the bathroom through the bedroom thing haha. Empty apartment tour will be dropping soon ;)
Hi Jamie! I’m looking for an apartment right now and stumbled across your video. I love the aesthetics and voice narrative so much, the editing is also so good! If you don’t mind me asking, do you have any suburb recommendations? I’m studying at Unimelb and still have no clue what would be good suburbs that I can travel to uni by trams/trains. Thank you so much!
Hi Nam! Thank you so much for your comment and for watching, I appreciate it so much! I think choosing a place is dependent on a lot of factors - eg if you want to live in a quiet or busy suburb, your price range, if you prefer the train/tram etc. I think a great thing about Melbourne is that the public transport is so great in my opinion! If I were you, I’d check out the inner city suburbs to be closer to Uni and see whether they interest you and are in your price range :) These are some resources you might find helpful: www.studymelbourne.vic.gov.au/living-and-accommodation/where-to-live www.domain.com.au/living/uni-student-rental-guide-melbourne/
I'm between Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide. Young professional in early 20s & my job allows me to work remotely (anywhere). How plausible is relocating to Aussie Land in today's climate? Genuinely asking. Hoping to make the move by the end of this year or early 2022.
I love these videos but just like a quick question, would you ever considering in the CBD or on the kind of outskirts like southbank, docklands, north melbourne etc. Im lowkey watching all your vids now cuz ur vids are amazing
Aw thank you so much for watching!! ☺️ I wasnt considering living further away from the city as I’ve lived in Carlton and Brunswick before and wanted to live more in the suburbs haha
Hi Jaimy hope you are doing great. any recomendation which site I can look for apartment rentals in Melbourne near the city. We will be moving by November. Your videos gave us an idea how Melbourne apartments looks like..🙂
Because international uni students are no longer renting them because of the pandemic, she says this at the start. Generally property in Melbourne is definitely more expensive than Brisbane, especially since we’ve just hit one million for median house prices here.
Those prices were 2 years ago, what about the prices of same level of apartments now in 2023 ????? can you answer me even with approximately answers ?🤑🤑
Hey Jamie, thank you for the video. Could you please advise where these apartments were located? I'll be looking for rental apartments soon too and currently my priority suburb is Footscray with around ~$500-550 budget
Hey Alexis! Apartments are advertised with a weekly rent amount (eg on real estate websites) 12 month lease is standard though six month leases are quite common as well
Hello recently I'm watching your videos and i also follow you here. May i ask how's the payment process per week. For example the renting amount is 450/week it is divided in to two person living in the apartment?
$350 to $430 per week doesn’t seem much for Melbourne especially for a 2 bedroom... I guess COVID has made a difference but generic, high rise, shoe box are words to describe what you will probably find in this price range..
@@SundayswithJamie maybe they didn’t have aircon on? Anyway you didn’t choose it, comment was more for people in the northern hemisphere that forget we are down under.
Thanks so much for watching, Jessica! ❤️ I went to an international school when I was younger before moving to Australia so it's a bit of a mix between North Amrerican/Australian haha
