#BondiRescueBali follows a small team of Bondi Rescue lifeguards as they leave the Australian winter and head to work at Bali’s Kuta Beach where the sun is still shining, waves are still pounding and there’s a huge influx of tourists from Australia and all over the world.
Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.
In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and #lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. Every year throws up new and completely unexpected challenges, and how lifeguards adapt is what makes Bondi Rescue a show that’s about much more than swimmers being saved in the surf.

I don't think its a superiority complex as much as it is about them being physically bigger than the locals. A big man who's an idiot is always gonna make a scene if a smaller man tries to boss him around.

My grandfather was forced to fight for the Germans because our part of Belgium was forcefully declared German territory. Doesn't mean my father was brought up to behave this way. @@rusparks3329 Well without knowing how the footage was edited, I'd say producers did that to make it a more light hearted show, if you started out with nothing but the lifeguards getting upset with parents not watching their kids, etc show probably wouldn't be as popular. That said, it's one thing to flirt with girls every now and then, and have them hang out at your watch tower/area while you pushing back beers with them.

This is why I'd make their job easier & just wear a life jacket. Or just stay in very shallow water. Or both. Besides I have bad fibromyalgia so if I went deep enough to require swimming I'd probably end up flaring some. If I ended up needing rescue I'd really be in pain later on. Also if you really insist on drinking enough to impair your senses & decision making abilities. Please make life easier & have your own babysitter to keep you out of trouble.

Did you... I dunno... maybe consider that there may have been a language barrier? If a foreign tourist is confused as to why they are being called out of the water, it’s the easiest thing in the world to calmly explain the reason. Instead we see a lifeguard shouting in his face and basically telling him to go kill himself.

@Tristan Bennett It's basic surf etiquette at least here in Australia that if you see a loose board, from a fellow surfer you retrieve it and forget about waiting for a wave. As an Aussie I see both sides, this is where the Bondi guys are coming from but the Bali guys are interested more in saving the life and the board is not their issue.

I feel so angry on behalf of the Bali lifeguards for not getting the respect they deserve and have earned through blood sweat and tears. Tourists and the general public fail to understand that expertise does give you greater authority on the matter. A lifeguard knows when you are in danger more than you and you need to listen. No questions asked.

Lot of people blaming the lifeguards, Aussies and Balinese alike, in the comments. The problem is really the foreign tourists that don't want to be told what to do. Instead of judging the lifeguards' dedication or behavior maybe some of you need to stop with the apologies and step in and tell your countrymen to listen to the lifeguards and behave when they act like a$$es.

Me too but you're probably at the whole opposite place which is near all the hotels, the part of Kuta beach that's infront of a hotel called Mercury is very calm and almost have no waves, and because there's no wave there's no need of lifeguards. But if you're not then you just never read the news paper and come at mid recede and at recede there's no waves so we don't need lifeguards. You're welcome.

I know they aren't the same lifeguards, but there are multiple episodes of bondi beach where they explicitly tell people to let go of their boards because its an additional risk during rescue. that being said saving as much life AND property as possible is usually the mission statement of first responding agencies.

They don’t get paid enough to care about drinking or not. I bet most of the guys take the job for the beach lifestyle. It’s a different culture there. Way more laidback. Still, I wouldn’t want someone who is supervising anything to do with human life to be wasted that’s for sure.

I dont even know there's a life guard in bali lmao. I almost drowning a month a go in melasti beach because of cramps. And no life guard there. It was another tourist who help me😂

I hope the Bali lifeguards listened to the comments from the Bondi lifeguards that it takes little effort to grab a board with the swimmer and not scare people on the beach or in the water thinking a surfer is in trouble or has drowned. I know that I would absolutely call 911 if I saw an abandoned board, it's just humane. Saying, "It's not our PROBLEM IS RUDE IN ANY LANGUAGE." 🙏

I’m glad they listened to some things, but I would definitely have pushed the issue of leaving the board out at sea. They’re right. Not only is it a safety issue for where it might slam into someone unassuming, but when it does show up, it should immediately be a drowning alarm. That’s irresponsible.
