Roundabouts, Difficult to explain in relation to this map because i drive on the other side of the road so the opposite to this, but the easiest way to describe them would be outside lane for first and second exits, inside land for 3rd or 4th (or more past that), You indicate before you exit. The only time you indicate before entering the roundabout is if you are taking the 1st exit or the 3rd/4th, so on this map, if you were going straight on, that would be the second exit, you would want to be in the outside lane, not indicate onto the roundabout but indicate right once you have passed the first exit to say "This is my exit". If you were taking the third exit, you'd be in the inside lane indicating left onto the roundabout, indicate right as you pass the second exit, switch to the outside lane and take the 3rd exit.

In a roundabout you usually use the complete right lane if you are taking the 1st exit. Use the 2nd and 3rd for the others. You indicate right if you are going right. You indicate left if you are getting on the 2nd or 3rd lane and then indicate right when you are taking the exit

Most people visiting the Canaries just stick to the coast/towns at the coast, plus whatever organised day trips are available. The centres (especially on the eastern islands) are pretty barren, however they're great fun for environmental scientists and geologists :P (though the more interesting islands are still Tenerife and La Gomera). to simplify the roundabout rules.. if you are taking the first exit of the roundabout it's ok to be in the outside lane while indicating right, but if you are taking the 2nd or 3rd etc you will need to be in the inner lane indicating left then right when you exit while changing lane.
If you're going straight on at a roundabout you stay in the outer lane. The only time the inner lane should be used is for dual straight on lanes or if you're going further round the roundabout. And if you're going straight you don't indicate until you've passed the first junction.
On a roundabout if you are going straight on you don't indicate right on approach as traffic from the right think you are going to take that exit and will enter the roundabout. Only indicate right as you are about to exit. If you are going all around the roundabout you indicate left until you are at the exit you want then indicate right to exit again. This would be opposite for here in the UK
Over here in the UK we have plenty of roundabouts, they're literally everywhere. The way we do it, if you're going straight on you don't indicate approaching the roundabout as that you suggest you're turning left or right, what you would do is indicate to leave the roundabout, so as you come past the exit before the one you want you'd put you're indicator on to let people know you're taking the next exit. If you're going left (or right in the context of this game, since you drive on the opposite side) you'd just indicate that way, and if you're going right (or left in game) you'd indicate that way on approach, then switch you're indicator the other way as you pass the exit prior to yours, again to let people know you intend to take the next exit. You're position on the road on approach should also tell people what you plan to do, unless it's otherwise marked the outside lane will be for going straight on or turning to that side, the inside lane is only to go right around the inside lane is for turning towards the inside or going right around and back the way you came. Generally if you're in the outside lane intending to turn you'll be closer to the outside of that lane, and if you're going straight you'll sit more towards the inside of that outside lane. If you think 2 lane roundabouts are bad one near my parents has 4 lanes, and that's not considered a particularly big roundabout. There's one over here known as the "magic roundabout" which is basically a giant roundabout made up of 7 smaller roundabouts, and if you take the right route around the 7 small roundabouts you can end up going around the big one backwards lol.
(Also, I really wouldn't worry about exactly what lane you're in while driving a bus, over here in the UK it's not uncommon to see large vehicles straddling lanes at roundabouts, it allows them to stop cars sneaking down their inside and taking the turning space away from them)
Being from Skelmersdale, home to the second largest roundabout in Europe and only one crossroad, everything else is roundabout. You indicate if going left or right but not straight, right lane for right turn left lane for left turn right lane for straight ahead

He Jeff, in real life people WILL mind if you indicated when entering the roundabout in Europe. If you use your right indicator, it means that you are going to take the first exit. If you use your left indicator, it means that you are going to take the last exit (effectively going to the left). If you enter without any indicator, it means you are going straight. you are only obligated to use your indicator when exiting the roundabout. But using your indicator when entering is very common in the west of Europe. But you have to do it right, because when you indicate right and are actually going straight or left, you could cause an accident because cars waiting to get on the roundabout assume you will take the first exit and pull out. If roundabouts are used correctly (by well trained drivers), they can be very efficient. In some country's they do not work very efficient at all unfortunately (you think of a reason yourself).
this is really accurate. just an addon: you should keep inner lane until you pass the exit before the one you are going to and only then you take the outer lane to exit (assuming a 2 lane roundabout)
In Chile if you want to exit the roundabout at the first exit, you should take the right lane, if you need to exit any other place you should used the left lane and merge after the previous exit
How to roundabout: 1. inside lane if you need to skip an exit. 2. Outside lane when you are exiting. 3. If you enter a roundabout and are exiting on the very next exit stay in the outside lane.
Don't worry about going all around in the outside lane. You're not doing it wrong (at least for Portugal). Heavy vehicle drivers like buses and trucks are allowed to circle around in the outside lane. But i recommend you to do some research because the roundabout rules are not the same for all countries. 😀

You don´t indicate when entering a roundabout for two reasons: 1) driving into a roundabout is not considered a turn (at least according to german traffic code) and therefore makes indicating unnecessary. 2) it could lead to accidents, especially when it´s a smaller roundabout, as other drivers might think you are going for the exit and start pulling into the roundabout.

Jeff for the not overtaking you're are right, for the overtaking you're are wrong the correct sign is the white circle with the gray slash (/) technically is an and of... and in the case of a speed limit you have the same sign with the limit number on it es. (9/0) for end of 90 limit, the sign exist because in europe did you have a "fixed" limit for any type of road ,in italy for es, 50 in city, 90 not urban areas, 110 for 4 lane split road (like highway) under 3 mt width for each lane, and 130 for highway.
When you're going in a 2 lane roundabout and you're going left or making a U-turn you have to take the left lane and use your left indicator and when you exit the roundabout you use your right indicator to show the traffic that you're exiting the roundabout. When you're going straight you can use both left and right lanes and if you're going right you use the right lane. That's the proper way to do it. I just had to let you know haha.
Roundabouts: 1)turning onto the first exit is right hand lane indicate right 2) turning onto the second exit is left blinker when entering the roundabout in the left lane unless road marking say otherwise and turn off into to left lane when leaving the roundabout and indicate right before leaving 3) turning into the third exit is go into the roundabout in the left lane unless road marking say otherwise indicate left when turning into the roundabout then when leaving the roundabout turn off into the right hand lane and indicate right 4) for the fourth exit do the same as the third but finish in the same lane as you start in when you enter the roundabout Extra add on (Edit): also when turning into corners in a bus to turn left move over as far to the right of your lane as possible to make a bigger gap, pull out to the centre of the road, then start turning and to turn right do the opposite
Use a clock face as the roundabout, act like your at “6 o’clock” anything before “12” would be outside lane and anything after would be inside, keep up the good work
For roundabouts Jeff... Town that I live in down here in Aus has that many roundabouts you can just about guarantee you'll hit at least 10 for every car trip. I've just received my L's in August so I'm just about as fresh with road rules as anyone can be. Double lane roundabouts are tricky, it's the number one most comon thing here that people will fail on their test. As a general rule of thumb if you're preceeding past halfway utilise the inside lane, however if you are turning off before or at halfway (aka 180°) you'll utilise the outside lane. In terms of indicators, an indicator entering the roundabout is only required if you will be proceeding past halfway as this will notify cars at your 240° that it is safe for them to enter the roundabout. If you are simply turning right or going straight ahead then no indicator is required until you exit the round about. When you indicate right onto the roundabout you tell cars at the 2nd exit that it's okay to go as your turning, they'll enter the roundabout and have an oh shit moment as you come barreling round that corner towards them when you indicated that you'd turn.
I think its better for you to stay on the outside lane to avoid accidents. As a bus, driver it might be dangerous to get into the inside lane then try and exit.BTW it's just my opinion I don't want to argue
Hey Jeff, love the vid. If you like bus sims you should check out OMSI 2. It's a really amazing game in my opinion. The graphics aren't the best but the gameplay is amazing. You can set the amount of passengers, pedestrians and traffic in the settings so it is to your liking. Chicago DLC is super fun and challenging, the Berlin X10 like is great and same with the Hamburg line.
Roundabouts: Necessary: If going right, indicate right and drive in the outside lane. If going left, indicate left and drive on the inside lane. If going forwards, don’t indicate and go in any lane. Etiquette: Indicate when come off the roundabout to let people around you know you are exiting. When going straight on, preferably go on the outside lane, so you don’t cut through lanes upon exiting, and getting in the way of other drivers.

If you indicate right on the beginning of a roundabout to go straight people will think your turning right and will end up pulling out infront of you, just some friendly advice
indicate left or right unless going straight and always indicate exit of roundabout. Mini roundabouts you only need to indicate your exit . Nice you found this game its fun I shoved it on 100% traffic always seem to get car and van come when you least want it too. Another thing if you get stuck with AI cars causing jam instead trying push and damage hit backspace kills Ai traffic temporary and clears jam.
I believe for a double lane round about is the inside lane is for passing the exits you aren’t taking and the right lane is for getting to your exit. So if you were turning right you would immediately get in the right lane. If you’re going straight you get in the left lane, pass the first exit which would’ve been a right turn and then merge into the right lane and exit. But I think for a left turn you would initially get in the left lane and then merge into the right lane after you pass the exit before your turn. So for example, you’re gonna go left. You get in the left lane and pass the first exit which was gonna be the right turn, then you stay in the lane left and pass the second exit which would be straight if you were going straight, then you merge into the right lane and exit. I think the point of this is because in theory if you see someone coming in the right lane then you can go ahead and enter the round about because that means they’re getting out before they pass you. So this way you don’t waste time waiting for someone whose exiting before they reach you anyway. I think it’s supposed to reduce wait times. You indicate the same way you would if it was a 4 way stop. You use left blinker if you’re exiting left, right blinker if you’re exiting right, and no blinker if you’re going straight.
A Roundabout s just like a regular intersection except when you turn out of it, then you use the blinker to the left. So a left turn means that you use the left blinker until you come around to the turn of and then use the left blinker. Sraight ahead no blinkers in the roundabout, right blinkers out. I got 9 roundabouts on the way to work.... :P Left lane is most of the times left turn, if there is two lanes on the road straight you can use it to, but otherwise use the right lane if you're going straight ahead. Buses and trucks does sometimes use both lanes as a safty precaution
Annoying how many people just post their local traffic laws without even thinking those could be different in Spain... So, in general, these kind of roundabouts are just very short one-way roads. If you treat them like 4 intersections you are fine.
I like the business aspect of this. I'm a huge tycoon game fan. Economic simulators are the best. As far as roundabouts, we have two small ones in terre haute now. Being that I've been in 48 states, roundabouts seem predominantly in the northern states though. Minnesota has a ton of them and so does Wisconsin. Dont remember two lane ones, but since I was carrying a 53 foot dry van, It wasn't the same as going in a roundabout in a car.
Spent 2 weeks on Fuertaventura. It’s a beautiful island and very popular for tourists. It’s a great location for surfing / windsurfing and kite surfing. Correlejo is beautiful and there is another town at the very south of the island that’s very nice. The barren nature of the island is due to the fact it is a volcanic island, it gets about 2 days rain a year, and it’s about 60 miles west of the Sahara desert in Africa. Had an absolute blast there though.

If you want good and simple instructions go on google maps and go into Michigan then the M-5, Pontiac Trail Roundabout, street view and look at the signs.
So I live in the Netherlands, they have a lot of roundabouts. If you take the first exit, you have to be in the outer lane, if you go further then it doesn't matter
Yeah, when entering a round about with four or more exits if you are leaving the round by the first two exits you stay in the outter most lane, for the first exit you indicate toward the exit, if you have to transit aournd the round about from the second exit onward you indicate into the round about, then indicate just before your exit, if you intend to exit the round about after the second exit then you use the inside lane indicating into the round about then move over before you need to exit. thats how it works where I live, there are round abouts here than traffic lights.
How it is in norway, most roundabouts i've come across has only one lane and four exits, so going straight = keep right in your lane and indicate before exiting, going right = indicate right turn and turn right, very straight forward, going left, keep left and indicate when entering to clearly show where you are going, then indicate while exiting, this is also wise to do even at a 2-lane roundabout to clearly show other drivers what your intentions are, and to lower the waiting-time for the other drivers who might be unsure if you're going straight or left. a lot of unneccesary stops happens due to questoning the drivers in the rundabouts intentions. My drivers instructor told me to use indicators whenever possible to show others your intentions, thats after all why you got them. anyway, driving style may differ from country to country and i do not speak for all of europe.

You don't indicate to get into the roundabout... only when you are intending to get off the roundabout. Indicators are just that... to indicate where you are going. There is only one way onto the roundabout. It's not like you have to make a decision to go left or right when you get on. It's one way. You indicate when you are getting OFF because you are giving an indication of which exit you are taking from the roundabout.
These roundabouts are crazy. I’m from Australia and we have one of the highest number of roundabouts in the world(1 in 60 intersections are a roundabout, while the US it’s more like 1 in few thousand) Our roundabouts are simple, straightforward and have good line markings compared to this game. I don’t understand why the roundabout has two lanes while all roads entering and exiting only have one lane. The roundabout should have the same number of lanes as the surrounding roads to make everything run smooth.
What's so hard about roundabouts? Left lane is only allowed to turn left and can also continue straight, but CANNOT turn right. Right lane must turn right, but can also continue straight, but CANNOT turn left.
When taking an exit to the right or going full circle, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise: signal right and approach in the right-hand lane. keep to the right on the roundabout until you need to change lanes to exit the roundabout. signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want.
Roundabouts in Spain are pretty easy, and I suppose they're the same in the islands! Just use the left indicator when exiting, it doesn't matter if it's the first or the last exit. We would normally use the left lane in a roundabout when there's a lot of traffic or when you don't want to take the first exit. We don't use the left indicator if you're taking the 2nd, 3d etc exit as other people suggested. Maybe in other countries they do, but here we don't!
This is why there are no roundabouts in the US...Easiest thing i've ever done was drive there. Lanes twice the size of your car, no roundabouts and the ability to drive through a red light.
Right on red is awesome, but roundabouts are pretty great if they suit the intersection. I know a few roundabouts on main roads in my city have been replaced with traffic lights, or have traffic lights in one direction on the roundabout due to too much traffic coming from one way
Roundabouts aren't complicated at all, Just think of it like a clock for people who drive on the Left, Use the Outside lane for anything before 12 and Inside lane for anything after 12 This is what I do so this is my opinion only, and For people who drive on the right just flip it around, anything after 12 is outside lane and anything before 12 inside lane, This shouldn't cause you any problems but always listen to road signs :) and road markings :)
How to drive through a roundabout: Just go through it. Indicating in seems useless to me, where else would you be going? ACROSS the median? The wrong way around the roundabout? No, you are only going one way, and that's into the roundabout. Indicating out is also simple, you are just indicating where you intend to/are going. Center lane typically has priority to exit whenever they want, and the outer lane is expected to let them out. But we already know how AI would react to that. If you're just going right, use the right lane. If you are going straight or left, use any lane.
Two lane roundabouts only make sense when there are two lanes exits. You dont indicate anything when youre entering. If you want to use the 1st exit you take the outer line and indicate when youre exiting. When you want to exit on any other exit you take the inner lane, then you indicate when youre exiting and you exit to the left (or right if there arent any car) lane on the exit. Thats all, but like nobody understand it so its dangerous.
Jeff you want to be scared on bus ( I was bus driver for the TTC in Toronto Canada now retired ) take a ride on the tour bus we took in Jamaica up to Bob Marley's tomb at the Nine Mile up in the mountains I almost crapped my pants the way they drive I thought I was going die on that trip.

In the real life when you are leaving a roundabout, you do it with right blinker.When you are in the roundabout, you do it with a left blinker until you leave.
There is plenty of traffic on the island, also it is known for its beaches and in the North part of the Island with the well known sand dunes and amazing beaches is great for surfing.

When entering a roundabout you don't need to signal, but you do when exiting it. You can stay on the outside lane if you want, but the traffic rules suggest you to take the inside lane if you are going to the third exit, but it is totally legal to stay on the outside lane. If you are curious about roundabouts just put on google "DGT rotondas" and there's many pictures of what you can or can't do.
I was thinking in terms of Britain haha, it would cause a few accident doing that. I would still signal coming up to a roundabout though Helps flow if people know whether you’re going left or right
