I could see them adding 6 more characters, as a way of completing The Seven, albeit doing away with continuity and putting characters based on combat potential and popularity. For instance, I could see A-Train The Deep Queen Maeve Black Noir Stormfront Soldier Boy It would be kind of like an Elseworld’s Seven lineup.
I feel like this reference is definitive proof that Antony was supposed to voice act as Homelander but unfortunately couldn't either due to schedule conflicts or something else.
I mean Homelander IS IN MK1. So obviously there wasnt an issue between Amazon and NRS. Either a scheduling conflict or they didnt offer Antony enough money
I think it was just a money issue from Antony’s point of view it was like “oh so these people want me to record more lines than I did for call of duty and not pay me the kind of money cod did? Yeah you’ve got to add a few more zeros on that check or this isn’t going to happen” and we got to respect that he’s the actor and the one they wanted for the role he has his standards and he stuck to his guns
? not sure what you mean by coincidence pretty sure this is a pretty intentional reference/collab "hey we'd like homelander to be in our game" "hey were going to make a mortalkombat/videogame reference in our show" and like you said they intentionally synched homelander release date with the Boys season 4 release
A-Train has Flash's Injustice's idle model, Lamplighter's intro is the same as Raiden's in MK11, has one of his combo strings and has Shinnok's ground projectile from MKX... Neatherealm absolutely made this
@@Breddouson Actually the default is the top-left and A-Train as is shown when Ryan starts the game. He moved his cursor down to Homelander before Ryan accepted the request to play with him.
I really like how they reused movements from their actual games. It’s nice to try to go back and figure what animation they took it from. Like a train is flash’s just normal standing. Some are obvious but others are a lot harder to remember. Something I noticed was this game has fatal blows. It’s just so many references in this one minute scene.
They could add some villains, like Starlight and that Asian girl she has as accomplice. Also, they could add some of the legacy characters, like Soldier Boy (even if his current situation is controversial). I would also love to see Stormfront, even if she's again controversial, but... the lightning powers!
the Boys has done a LOT of parodies of real world stuff for their setting (dawn of the seven movie, american hero reality tv show, our sheet advertisement etc.) but I do think itd be a little jarring to see MK in this scene I like that they did a vought fighting game and its super on brand afaik the only real world product they put in so far is Liquid Death
