I had to laugh a little at the roll-back who would not go up those roads. At our equipment dealership out in the eastern Ozark Mountains of Missouri, I routinely delivered tractors and equipment out those kind of roads, driving through creeks, and with brush scraping both sides of the truck. Sometimes, I even had to back out part of the way because I couldn’t turn around out in the woods. But a great video showing another problem and solution recovery professionals perform.
Casey once again good entertainment and logical explanations. I do find it strange that you are always committed to being safe. However your offsider F - bond Austen is reluctant to just put on a seat belt.
The guy in the back braking can't see for the dust but done quite well. You can tell he has been pulled more than once and understands. I've pulled people before that just don't get it.
He did a very good job. I was really wishing I would have brought my kinetic ropes to soften the jerks and shock loads from trying to keep three vehicles coordinated, but both of them did very well. The hardest jolt we had the whole time was completely my fault when I was in the back acting as brakes
@@JT-SE-OHIO the white one was completely dead so it had no power steering or brakes, and a few miles of fairly steep hill to go down. I hooked to the back so he could concentrate on steering and not have to try and fight for brakes at the same time.
That tow truck looks like it has the same dashboard as my 2005 Excursion and the 2004 down Super Duty pickups. Those mirrors look like 2008+ Super Duty pickup mirrors. That engine sounds like a 7.3. Great video!
@@CaseyLaDelle So, 2005 headlights, Dana Super 60 front axle with radius arms and coil springs, 2008 mirrors with power folding, and 7.3 liter Navistar. I like it. I heard your comment about the 6.0 liters; I was stupid enough to buy 2 of them. I have a 2005 F-350 and a 2005 Excursion. With the exception of the sheetmetal, they couldn't be more different. They both have the 6.0 liter diesels....Yeah, I know. Great video!
11:50 LOL --- so here in the second part of the operation, you were actually being kinda like the OPPOSITE of a tow truck --- rather than your ADDING POWER with your ENGINE to PULL the disabled vehicle, you were instead using your BRAKES to SUBTRACT forward motion and HOLD BACK THE VEHICLE! :P :D
You managed to recruit your own cameraman! Cool! is it just me or did the sound volume vary a bit between different parts of the video? Interesting little off road train you got going there, and yes those kinetic ropes sound like a really nice "wannahave" bit of kit for every recovery vehicle! Just wondering: Why didn't you put that broken car already on the back of your tow truck for that last bit of downhill road before reaching the rollback truck? Would that have put too much force on the forks of your tow truck?
@@CaseyLaDelle I understand that, but that was the other tow truck company son buddy & you would think they would tow it for him. But then again maybe the other tow truck company owner knows it's best to keep them to separated, lol
When a passenger does not wear a seatbelt he will become a hazard to the driver in situations involving vehicle strikes from the passenger side and roll overs. I am flumoxed about the carelessness of people not wearing seat belts, but then again ignorance has not limits.
I started driving, long before seat belts were fitted to vehicles. I have not, yet, been in a situation, where seat belts would have helped, or made a difference! We are brainwashed into believing that seat belts are so important and save our life. Accept the responsibility for looking after your own safety. If you rely on safety items saving your life, then you are more likely to do dangerous things!
Click it or ticket??? Driving around without seat belts on and no alarm?? On the down hill are you down shifting to keep your brakes from over heating and save on wear and tear on your brakes.
Seen your tow truck for sale in our group, clicked the link and ended up here! Subscribed! Seen Matt's offroad in the comments! Watched him for years now! Keep up the good work Casey
I love your videos and your truck! Your whole setup is really great. I've learned quite a bit in just the few videos of yours I've seen. Appreciate you 🙏 Accidentally stumbled on your videos when I was searching for something else tow related! Also; I've got an 04 F350 CCLB with a 6.0, just rolled 340k on the odometer. Runs like a top! They're not as bad as the vast majority seem to think. Purely maintenance. 😁
That was a great video I liked it and I like how you explained your equipment of why you were doing it and how you were doing it keep up the great videos
@@CaseyLaDelle I saw that stuck trailer Matts crew winched out... you see he's putting a winch on the 🍌with all the upgrades its getting. You, Matt and FabRats are some of my favorite channels...
awesome recovery! I went to help a 2WD out of snow in 2019 when my clutch decided it was done working. Tow truck came and had enough line to get me and on the flatbed. flatbed then got stuck as I was about 30 fee from the pavement. Tow truck then unloads the Jeep with my sitting in it when his line untangled and I flew in the Jeep off the bed towards the 2WD truck. I braked. 2. tow truck comes and to get me on the firs truck again, pulls the tow truck and me out. that was lot of towing too and we all learned a lot.
Camped once at East lake resort and ran all over those flows. So I have good idea where you were up there. You have a little guts taking the tow truck up there. Gald things turned out well.
Never ever commented on a video. But y’all have me riveted!! I WANT TO GO WITH YOU AND RESCUE SOME CRAZY DUDE!! Question: your always on bumpy crazy roads… why do I not get motion sick? How is your camera so steady sir? Clearly I’m a wanna be and know nothing John Snow! Stabilizer something??
Oh ford haters, oh ford haters where are you ???? DA RIGHT shhhhh FORD TOWING TWO THAT'S 2 of Chevy heaviest vehicles oh ya TWO!!!!!! in the the dirt and up hill !!!! Remember that's a Ford transmission and that's a Ford rear end
3 truck convoy awesome haha! Im guessing both vehichles GVRW is close to 5-8k lbs each ... your truck really handled that 12-16k lbs. My 01 suburban is 8k lbs
Why not just hook up one truck in the hills and tow it down properly following to be brakes makes no sense ... and a truck does not weigh less on the bumper vs wheels .... not how the laws of levers works man lol
I know you had a reason but why did you just not hook up the suburban in the front to your wrecker and raise up on the wheel and pull it out I would like to know what your reasoning was
Because the extension cylinder in that wheel lift is not designed for the pulling force that would be placed on it by two Suburbans being drug up such a steep hill
I've been watching for about 2 months now. I thought I had a pretty good handle on your vehicles, until I saw the Ford wheel lift. I'd like to ask you if you would do a video of all your recovery vehicles side by side and a brief description of why you use each one in the different applications.
I've had to do this myself but he had to flatbed stuck so he called me I ran over to his house and grab the wrecker and drove met him had to winch him out and went to the truck out that he was trying to load up and daisy chain pretty much LOL. Thank God the wrecker was a beast and still is LOL it's one of them old 70s 80s style wrecker
