Welcome to the 2024 edition of the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon in Canmore, Alberta, Canada! We are thrilled to host the world’s finest biathletes on challenging trails at one of the best venues in the world, while also moving towards zero waste in the process.
In partnership with the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley, the BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon is a responsible steward of the environment. This year, we aim to divert 85% of waste from the landfill towards recycling, repurposing and compost streams.
As spectators, athletes, teams, volunteers, and staff, here are three things you can do to help us reach our goal:
1. Sort at the source.
2. Bring reusables.
3. Avoid attracting wildlife by using bear-proof bins or storing waste indoors overnight.
