Tower 42 which is more commonly known as the NatWest Tower or National Westminster Tower, was the first modern skyscraper to be built in London and completed in 1980. A symbol of the City of London's growing influence in finance. This was built as the global head office for NatWest bank, with the top down view being of the banks logo.
Built 183 metres tall, it was controversial at the time, being so tall and much taller than anything else on the London skyline. It wasn't until One Canada Square was built at Canary Wharf in 1990, that its title as the tallest building in the UK was surpassed. It wasn't until 2010 though, when Heron Tower was built that it was overtaken in the City of London (Square Mile).
It remains a stunning example of modern architecture on London skyline and this drone video shows of the tower at its best, from day to sunset to night.
