No, the players meet at the training ground, and drive through the town to get to Portman Road, a clever change Mc Kenna introduced when he came. The players used to just turn up at the ground in dribs ad drabs, now they turn up together, as a team
They don't do that. The players meet at the training ground, and then drive through the town to get to Portman Road. They used to turn up at the ground individually, but when Mc Kenna came, he changed it so that they meet at the training ground, and collectively arrive at Portman Road, as a team, driving through the town and seeing the supporters on the way, who in turn, see their team arriving as a team.
With the training ground being in a quiet area on the outskirts and the stadium being in the town it just makes perfect sense for them to drive to the training ground and all meet up there and travel to the ground together. It makes things more relaxed for the players and they spend more time together.
Looks like the players park and portman road in the morning so their cars are there for after the game. The coach the takes them else where, probably training ground for last debreif and breakfast before returning to protman road for the match. Thats my understanding. rewatched it over a they defo catch the coach outside portman road
