I grew up in oromocto. I would love to raise my child there. However, unless you work in government. There is no work for the average person. This article is a little miss leading. I had to move my family to alberta, away from my family and friends to serve. I wish I could come home.
Haha oromocto is the worst town to start a business or build a home. The town planner won't let you build anything unless it's a box. The municipality will work against you if you try and build a business (unless your the government or a bank). I wonder why the oromocto mall is closing down...? and as far as the military goes, there are a lot of young men looking for mischief. This video is a bunch of BS.
i lived here in grades 7-8 moved back to Ontario for high school im now 25 and retired so i came back and my god its Horrible now over the 2 years since I commented the above ive learned if your not military your nothing when I complain to the town and or bring up better more efficient and cost effective ways to do things im told "if you don't like how things are done either move or run for mayor yourself" I have been able to convince public works roads crew to reverse their rout down my street so that when they use the plow that clears 3/4 of the width of the street its to the side that's has 2 driveways that is plowed out by truck or tractor and only the remaining 1/4 is plowed to the side with 4 houses that are dug out by hand the police are useless when I call the police to report property damage and theft caught on camera I gave name address and dob of the person who did it I'm told "he's in the military he doesn't need to steal like someone like you living off the system" when in reality ive never been living on the system. the thief has now taken the stolen property to Alberta and with no police report I couldn't make an insurance claim for the $4,500 in damages and theft and you better not have a medical emergency between the hours of 10PM and 8AM as the hospitals ER will be closed overall the discrimination from the town and police for living here and not being in the military is pathetic
I have lived in Oromocto for the past 14 years, spent some time in the Forces, and now am Civi commuting to Fredericton. I love the town, and am happy to raise my children there. Also, cool to be recognized by the great Terry Bradshaw LOL
