Nice video. We spend a week in Townsend every August after school is back in session and the area crowds have died down a bit. Have been going for many years. It's close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but yet it's quiet. Close to some great trails and Cades Cove, of course. I highly recommend it. Can't wait to get back. The Townsend IGA does indeed have just about everything you might need except some higher end meats. We stop in Maryville on the way in to town to pick up booze and those few things we can't find at the IGA.
Always nice to see an area that is close to major resort/vacation areas that might be by passed by the destination travels. By stopping 15 to 30 minutes from or past it you can find a mini adventure and be out of the madness of behinds to elbows.
Thank you for focusing on townsend. And all my years coming out there I have only been through there a couple of times. Nice to know it's a place that's laid back where you can get away from all of the traffic and busyness of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg
Been looking to move to the area for about a year now and can’t wait to go for vacation and to scout out a place to rent for the time being until I can purchase some property! I’ll most likely be working out of Sevierville but want to live closer to the mountains or in them! Townsend seems like a slice of heaven ☺️
There used to be an IGA a couple of miles from my house but they shut down, I was so disappointed when that happened. I did all my grocery shopping there.
Just follow 321 South out of Pigeon Forge and head to Townsend. the road ends in Townsend. Make a right and go 3/4 mile IGA is next to the SHELL STATION.
@@VacationStationTV I’ve watched two driving videos so far and both went up and down the same highway and then ended. There was nothing like that on the video. Only saw welcome center, a steak restaurant, a Best Western a rafting place. Can you show where all the stores are, etc …
