Jon, I am a retired history teacher and your channel greatly interests me. I can just get lost in it! I had NO idea your family business is so EXTENSIVE! Soooo interesting! NITA
I'm a fan of the Townsends, and I want to thank you ladies for giving me the opportunity to see the behind the scenes of this amazing world they have created! Totally marvelous!
@@NatalieandTara in all fairness it was the Townsend episode that I found this channel. I am very happy I did you both have given me a good laugh when I have needed one thank you ,
My wife and I got the "Tour" back about two years ago. Kevin was still there then and it was great. Got to meet Jon who is always busy but took time out for us. We got a tour of the store work areas and saw where many of the items are made. Got to meet the ladies who sew much of the clotting and other nice folks who make many of the cool items sold by Townsends. We were treated royally. I highly recommend it if your in the area. My wife and I pass thru a couple of time a year going from Phoenix,Arizona and Door County,Wisconsin and enjoy stopping. If you go ask about the hole in the floor of one of the old buildings were bank robbers in the "old Days" came in! Arizona Tom
That's awesome, what a fantastic experience. Yeah, everyone there is just lovely and they treated us so well. Thrilled we were able to make this happen.
Seeing this just gives me so much more respect for all that Jon and his family and crew do, and I already had a lot. It's just amazing to see the workings behind the scenes.
This was an excellent marketing video for Townsends. They have a big operation over there and you showcased a lot of products I didn't know that they had.
Great video!! You guys are a riot! Been a Townsend fan for about 4 years now. My brother and I stopped by two years ago and ran into Jon and Kevin. Jon dropped what he was doing and gave us a similar tour, as did Ryan. Wonderful people!!! Looks like the store front changed a little. Keep up the fun work--love the spontaneity! Well done!
Jon is such a good hearted man you can tell the way he interacts with everyone I love his channel I always watch and now I'm subbed to your channel love the video ladies👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸👍🏼🇺🇸👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏼
Great video. I had no idea that the public part of the store was so small or that the rest of it was so big. Thanks for giving us a look behind the curtain, where all of their wonderful merchandise lives. I'm amazed by how much of it they make themselves. Of course, this just makes me want to go on a huge Townsends shopping spree lol. Btw, the zombie video is really fun, I recommend watching it if you haven't.
Yay! So cool. I was surprised that the actual storefront area was so small, though! I guess there aren't that many people strolling down the street and stopping in to buy things off the shelves ... It's great that so many items that they sell are made in-house.
Y'all guys are awesome. That was a great tour. I always wanted to see behind the scenes especially the nutmeg tavern. Love Townsend's Jon is an awesome person enjoy learning new things and I commend him for preserving history.
This is how I found y’all From watching his videos His videos are calming and chill Y’all aren’t lol your a lot of fun and I’m glad to have a new channel to enjoy Keep it up it’s y’all are great
Hahaha... We are chaos and they are so calm and collected. The team over there was so generous with their time, even though we are a handful. Thanks for watching! EDITED: as to not call them clams but instead calm. 🤦♀️
Both are kinda true. The "storefront" is very tiny, and really just that, a storefront. There was at one point, an actual store, but the town is very small and then the internet came along, so most of their sales are online. Over the years the storefront has gotten smaller and smaller. Most of what use to be the store is now used for editing.
Townsend’s- hand makes thread, clothes, soap, buttons, hats, coal picker upper do-dads N&T- makes shrinky dinks I kid because I love. You ladies are awesome, and I enjoyed the tour. It shows how much effort Townsend puts into his channel and store. They have a lot to be proud of.
Happy Friday my lovely friends. Hope you are both well. I just caught this on my feed. The inside of that shop looks absolutely amazing! Everything looks awesome! Mr. Townsend seems to be a very gracious host. Very cool stuff in here. Great vid ladies. You both looked very beautiful that day too. Have a great Labor Day weekend and be well and safe out there. Bye for now! 😊🌹🌷
My husband thinks it is a hoot from the joy you give me! Reminds me so much of times spent with an old friend when we were young and up and ready to try anything. Oh...the fun we had and the trouble we got in to! Teehee
Very Interesting! I am very interested in 1800s cooking and have bought a few items from Townsends. This video showed several more things I’d like to have.
I took my mom there a couple of years ago, neat store and not only did I buy some Christmas presents I got some mushroom ketchup. Great store, John and his team are doing us a real service teaching us about history and his channel is a textbook example of how you can use social media to not only do good but to grow your business.
good gravy, that place is huge! i wouldn't have thought it to be quite that much of an operation, although i'd never visited the site, just the food videos. plus, he seems like such a nice guy, someone you really don't mind giving your money to.
I just watched the video you did with Jon Townsend. It was really nice having some beautiful and delightful women join in. And thanks for wearing those thematic and pretty costumes, it was very appropriate!
I truly love love love that they keep everything made by the local craftsmen and made in America. they could have easily sold out and went overseas and they didn't, which I am so so so thankful for. I just bought some of that mushroom ketchup for my dads bday this month and a few other things. And I love things that r made in america. i am a huge fan of Townsend's so thxs for making this video.
Wow! It is so much smaller than a year and a half ago. We saw Jim's Red Pants live there and that whole front was open with glass cases, shelves and tons of merchandise for sale.
Fantastic! Three of my favorite RU-vid folks all together, right there in Indiana! Interesting tour - inside the facility is so much larger than I'd imagined, with so much available workspace for actually making the merchandise! Yet, rather like an English muffin - it's just full of all sorts of nooks and crannies where all manner of things are created, stored, and distributed! Once again, you two gorgeous ladies seem to have thoroughly enchanted Jon and his staff, and still had a terrific time! So glad you two were able to mesh so nicely with the Hoosiers at Townsends - blending your pretty hipster LA freeway'd presence into their active Colonial era environment!
OMG this just made me so sad that I live in South Africa and our postal service steals packages :( Do the Townsends offer tracked courier service at all? International? I would give a lot to have a bunch of those shiny buttons for my own sewing projects and maybe a few different hats and of course a frock or three to match the hats. Then of course the husband would need some shirts and waistcoats for work which would need the correct pants to round the outfit out. And who doesn't need new cookery guides? I just made myself really happy and really sad watching this video. It's a wierd feeling but you made me want to make things so for that you get an upvote :) Thank you.
@@vladabocanek3703 it's less about what skin tone those in power have and more about the inequality between the haves and the have nots. The endemic corruption in our government does not help since the post office is essentially run by the government.
Natalie and Tara you did a great video about it! I used to live in Indiana and now I wish I still did. I had no idea regarding the scope of their business - they must be a major supplier for historical re-enactor groups’ clothing, etc. I’m seriously thinking about looking into joining one, now. I’ve been binge-watching Townsends and now I’ve found your wonderful channel because of it, and of course I subscribed and yours is next on my binge-watching list.
Thanks Vern. We only have/use what's available/provided by YT but we try hard to coordinate with the videos theme. So the compliment is much appriciated!
Fun tour! It's interested to see how much has changed since the last tour video John did on their channel, especially the storefront! I hope you're able to get the livestream video soon. :)
