This method, although complex, avoids ALL of the electronic anti-theft devices that might otherwise damage wheels and transmissions and possibly cost the towing company if found at fault.
The critics of this method/machine do not get it ! , please use your brain (if you have one) before writing. This ones are for tight streets and parallel parking !!! , try using any regular towing system !! On those...
I like seeing how tow truck designs vary around the world. No truck is best for every situation, but each has its strengths and weaknesses. Some common taters seem to be fond of the trucks used in GTOger vids, but those require wider streets than are found in many parts of the world. They would be virtually useless in most of Europe.
Come to London and you will see 20 tow trucks like this before you see a single Police car. And that's a fact. Parking control in London makes BIG money.
We do this in the UK as absolutely no chance of damaging the car towing with 2 wheels on the ground, the tow firm would get sued otherwise. Maybe in the US they don't care if they wreck someone's transmission or whatever.
@@spongebobsquarepants3770 - Yeah - agree, it's the safer way, especially with all the electric vehicles becoming much more common - I would think that many of them would be need to be lifted onto a flatbed to avoid any damage.
they also have what’s called a Tow Dolly, so when a regular tow truck tows a car they could put it on the Tow Dolly that way it’s totally off the ground
Might because of a lot of our cars are parallel parked, when bumper to bumper not sure if the boom method would work. But I too thought the boom makes more sense for most occasions
Wish they did this out in California for all the people who take advantage of handicapped parking, obviously I’m disabled so it really gets to me, especially when they say I’m only gonna be a second.
1. Why don't we have equipment like this in the states? 2. Do you need to be certified to use this type of equipment? 3. Did you ever cause damage? 4. What about tight spots like one car in the front and one car in the back the middle one would be tight? 5. Do you need a hydraulic license to operate this equipment?
This method seems so much more complex and risky compared to the other methods. What's the advantage of this except for moving AWD vehicles? Although the roller dollies for a flatbed really negate the difficulty for towing an AWD.
I'd imagine something to do with how tight streets can be. A truck with a flatbed or hitch would take up more of the roadside and more time having to line up. Time is usually of the essence since they do block a lot of roadway in any case. Just a guess 🤔
We use one where it is easier than setting up a side winch. Used correctly there is little chance of damage to the vehicle. No farting around with slipperies and snatch blocks. We do use Streetlifters for removing abandoned vehicles, also when highways want a road cleared for resurfacing or works. Sometimes we use them for teslas if they refuse to go into towing mode if requested. Yes, we do also use dollies and slipperies as well but each job is assessed and the best option used. There is the other point that using one to remove an obstructing vehicle creates more of a spectacle (excuse the pun) and sends the message out that your car will be moved however you try to outsmart the system. Lol
What is responsibility of towing company in your countries? Does the illegal driver take some or all risk of damage during clearing the road from his obstacle?
@@festusenabulele357 what a very illogical comment. Weak, silly and.. BRRRRRRZZZZZ Oh! the buzzer went. I win. No further comments will be tolerated at this time.
The vehicle parked in the suspended marked Areas, and it could be for anything, traffic flow or designated vehicle. Before the suspension is active, they give 3 to 5 days of notice.
At the venue I worked security at, if someone thought they'd just leave their vehicle behind overnight in a marked NO PARKING OVERNIGHT parking lot, the next morning the venue maintenance guy would just effortlessly use the Pettibone forklift and pick up the vehicle (exhaust & undercarriage be damned) and drop it off premises on a far sidestreet.
Dozens of Metropolitan Police officers and special constables have disciplined for using their black warrant cards for blagging free train travel or trying to get access to bars and clubs while drunk. In total, 58 complaints of officers misusing their warrant cards have been made between February 2013 and January 2015 according to documents released under the Freedom of Information Act. According to the disclosure log, the Metropolitan Police has investigated staff for misusing their warrant cards to get free travel on trains, gain access to pubs and nightclubs while drunk and even attend football matches, claiming to be working under cover. Of the 58 complaints during the period under question, 13 officers either retired or resigned from the force following the investigations.

now that one way to play keep away from the owner if they have bills on that car that they owe & if they in the car how they drive away that high up cuz they rip the straps & fall to the ground damage the car & put u in the hospital
Too bad there wasn't something quicker, along the same lines, you could go around random streets a d switch cars around all over the place, then stick around to record all the owners reactions
Have you seen how small some of the streets are in Europe or London, a regular tow truck like to use in the United States would not be able to tow most of the vehicles on those streets. It would take them too long

If you look across the bed of the truck (1.00 -1.30) you can see a sign "Parking restrictions apply". It means its probably a controlled parking area for either residential permit holders or its a pay and display. You can also see a penalty charge notice under his wiper arm. Consider yourself very lucky if you find a FREE (of charge) parking space in London !
