Mike Dewine should be in jail for this. We live 1.5 hrs from East Palestine. Our friends had to move from this city because they were getting sick, with headaaches and rashes. Its unfortunate how the people in East Palestine have been pushed aside.😢
When any big chemical burn or spill happens around you leave If you work in a chemical plant n there are unsafe levels of the chemicals in the air, quite n leave I worked at a chemical plant n there were times there were unsafe levels of chemicals in the air, I quit, I needed some money at that time in my life or I would of quit earlier, I worked there about 2 months After I realized there were unsafe levels of chemicals in the air at times, I quit within a few weeks I watched these RU-vid videos on chemicals n one said if you can smell it in the air then it is unsafe levels I was on the packaging line, it wasn't as bad as with the guys mixing the chemicals in the big pots, they had on masks but that only helps so much I told a few of the other employees they should get out of there also cause of the unsafe chemicals in the air, but they seemed not to care much There were a few things going on with it being unsafe with the chemicals Sometimes also a spill would happen n someone got the chemicals spilled on them some like when they were trying to fix the hoses chemicals came through If the chemical got on you, they would run water over that area of your body to get it off you as much as they could One guy it spilled on him n he took his shirt off n rinsed that part of his body off with water from a hose Also at times there were big garage doors they left shut at times n they should of been opened more to let the chemicals in the air out n more fresh air in When they mixed this one chemical it got so bad in the plant we all tried to go outside until the smelled in the air went away, you couldn't breathe that good, but a few people doing the stuff with the chemical had to stay n endure it Very unsafe at that chemical plant at times
@windmillrespector People this is a reply to someone's comment to me Ya I misplelled that word It will be alright, people make spelling mistakes sometimes I edited it n fixed the spelling mistakes
I am also from east or eastern Palestine, its just that I am actually Palestinian not Ohioan. I guess we share the same struggle. man I am confused, your goofy ahh state has weird names.
They checked the soil, but did they check the water? Did they power wash the buildings to catch the particulate raining down on them during the burn-off?
I live all the way East in New Hampshire, just about as far East in the US you can go from this disaster besides the state of Maine, and also just happen to be located right underneath where the weather patterns from Ohio come from. For the whole week during this disaster, the rain left a white film on all our vehicles and dark surfaces outside. ALL parking lots that had rain puddles had a rainbow color liquid floating around in the puddles, and I don't believe it was fuel or oil products. The fact that we in NH, five states and a 10 hour drive away from Ohio, were [likely] seeing the environmental ramifications from this disaster, means Ohio and surrounding Pennsylvania must be absolutely affected in the long term. I pray for you all.
It's crazy that the polluter is allowed to hire the contractor to monitor levels of pollution. How cam the EPA do it's job when they don't really know everything going on since the polluter and their contractors are almost always lying.
Thank you Jennifer L. Homendy and NTSB for standing up and doing what’s right. Getting trains back online is the number one priority. Profits over safety is the name of the game. #Shameful #Greed #Safety #MakeThemWholeAgain
What that guy from Norfolk said should be used in court because to me, that sounded like admitting to not adhering to safety regulations because it’s not “supportive of a healthy business environment” aka, doesn’t make them enough profits 🙄
But isnt this the way they do things? Something horrific like this happens,.... then weeks later..you hear the aftermath thats not good. Always!!....Pray for these people and all of us.. This was a test folks.
The state has Republicans in all key positions, the brake that failed and caused this was allowed because GOP lobbied to not make corporations spend money on the improved breaks.
@@neilcanton8661The actual cause of the crash was the bearing that was overheated and worn out which should’ve been detected by the track detectors as it was on fire for at least 20 minutes leading up to the derailment. The main cause of the derailment is Norfolk Southern which along with the 3 other major freight companies are seeing record profits, but have let go of their many of their employees with precision scheduled railroading which only benefits the shareholders with short term profits. With PSR there’s now less upkeep on maintaining the railway/trains, less employees, and now trains that are twice as long which is a big problem for efficiency as side rails that were designed previously off the main track don’t fit the main train which is twice as long. So other trains can’t pass/wait the rails, along with Amtrak. The Department of Transportation has the Federal Railroad Administration under it’s control but they don’t have much influence as they are underfunded so don’t have much regulatory influence along with not being in control of the railways which are duopoly with Union Pacific and BNSF west of the Mississippi and Norfolk Southern and CSX to the east. All the railroad employees went on strike recently which was adverted by not much was done for the employees who work long hours sometimes as even much as 100 hours a week but more commonly around 40-60 hours with them having to be on notice from anywhere to 90 mins to 3 hours while they’re on call even while their asleep. I think if the government where to nationalize the railways and lease them out to private companies that would be best as the government can have direct regulatory influence which could benefit Amtrak and passenger rail even though there should be separate track for that which could accommodate higher speeds and no or minimal freight trains. Also these freight companies spend a lot of money on lobbying so both parties are compromised on this issue in my opinion but you’ll have but more democratic party officials will talk about this than compared to Republicans. The response after the derailment was pretty bad too considering the chemicals that were part of the derailment, I’ve heard that the Ohio governor didn’t care too much about the chemicals as a lot of them flew east into Pennsylvania with the wind not sure if that’s true though.
Keep your expectations low, as Pete wasn't all that impressive when he initially, (and finally) went to East Palestine. Can't wait to hear the spin that Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. puts on it when he, (again, finally), goes there.
He's hiding in a bunker somewhere. Haven't seen much of him since the Biden regime came into power. I think he dropped by East Palestine for all of five minutes. Talked a lot and said nothing. Got a photo op and was gone.
Mayor Trent Conaway’s leadership during East Palestine’s time of need was inadequate. I recommend that the citizens of East Palestine consider voting for a candidate who will prioritize their best interests.
He's just a regular guy. They would have burned the chemicals regardless of what he said. Even if he did have a say in it, they probably told him it was going to explode and level the town. So, what else could he say? Everyone is so smart. What would you have done differently in the situation? Rolled the dice and risk people's lives?
@@craigslistbuslistingsofnor6494 He's the part time mayor of a village. There's more people shopping at the mall of America right now than people living in that village. He's not an expert at anything. So, when the EPA and experts are there and say we're going to do a slow burn because it can explode any moment if we don't, what is he supposed to do? Even if he had input on it, which I doubt he did, he followed the advice of experts. Even the President of the United States follows the advice of experts. If you want to be mad at anyone, it should be the EPA. They were the experts who should have known better.
@@superoldgamesaturday3277 How? Not trying to say they're blameless, but I don't really understand how he's responsible here when the company was the one running hazardous chemicals on the train with precision scheduling being the main culprit.
@jenniferperry87 Biden''s the one who sided with this company in that photo-op union deal that he claimed would prevent things like this and Biden is also the one who didn't do a God damn thing to help when the crash happened and people were literally dying in Ohio. East Palestine is Biden's Katrina and he turned Ohio into a red state on the back of his callousness. And now, he's finally going for a photo-op and because he's down double digits in every poll.
If you stop using plastic is about only way to stop this.. I noticed tons of plastic products through whole show family's own! That buying power fuels the entire issue!
Chemicals can be absorbed into homes (IAQ/absorbable material) differently than outdoors (wind and nonporous material being one difference) and the fact the EPA "expert" doesn't understand is disturbing. The water supply and the EPA respnse is also concerning.
The EPA “expert” also doesn’t study the human body. The problem here for everyone in this town and around the area is the reaction to chemicals by the mast cells in the human body. Every body will have a different reaction depending on their immune system and nervous system. It’s a problem solved with antihistamines and mast cell stabilizers that are inexpensive and have low side effects. I am not a dr but happy to answer any questions.
Question 1: Can the railroad refuse to carry some cargo because it's dangerous? No. Question 2: Did having two crewmen in the cab make a difference? Nope, neither looked backward to see the 60' flame coming from their train. Question 3: When the railroads complained that Nancy Pelosi's new PTC signal system would cause them to divert safety expenditures with little advantage, did the government relent? No. Question 4: Did the hideously expensive PTC system prevent the accident? No.
For those of you who are into (or believe) in *Predictive Programming* , a train crash involving toxic chemicals that looks eerily similar to the Ohio Train disaster can be seen in the following movie(s): "White Noise" (2022) and "Deleted" (2013) , with the latter being more disturbing! Y'all stay safe out there and folks in small towns, please keep your guard up; I've noticed that a lot of these recent train disasters have been occurring in small towns!
"We're committed". "We're working to find solutions" "The testing needs more tests to be tested" Blah blah blah. These people talk in circles, without ever actually saying anything. This is the case every time there is a catastrophe of any sort. Whether it's the government, military, or some major company, there's a lot of talk and nothing good is ever accomplished. Ever.
What's he going to replace it with? These politicians tell you what they can and want to do, but they typically never provide a plan... trusting politicians at their word is unwise.
@@juliahenderson5418people with a belief system that primarily keeps reality in mind. Probably what caused it is dei hires, people that listened and stayed at their job and took the experimental liquid, and Democrat loyalists that don’t want Biden/Pete B to have a bad record.
This disastor is just another chapter in the failed US bureaucracy where live and death decisions for the whole state and even country, rest on the shoulders of a few men who have to quickly think in the heat of the moment. What could go wrong?
To your town! Just kidding. It's probably going to a town like mine where a remediation company bought several acres of land right next to an elementary school and my mom's house. They store contaminants there. They may also "bake" the dirt and recover the site. Either way, it's not something you want.
This is problem caused by both parties, adequate breaking systems, and better hours so train operators dont have to work till they doze off should have been manded by law, but that would cost money and the rail companies have bribed, I mean donated to all our politicians so they dont have to spend that money.
Yeah but what choice do some people even have? Rent is unaffordable in most areas and picking everything up, packing, traveling out of state... It all costs money then you need to find a job in a new area some states you have to have residency before you get get a job in the area... Its not as simple as you'd think Then there's people who will say just leave and figure it out later... But being homeless with a child while looking to start a new life someplace else will also be called child endangerment... The only people at fault are the politicians, the EPA, the train company Not the victims
Did you hear that no more sneaking through our backyards toxic carcinogenic hazard materials we are The general counsel we can throw the government if we work together but we need to know what is traveling through our backyards for the safety and health of our youth
