I read his book years ago, and so much of his critique of military leadership helped me feel like I wasn't crazy for the reasons I had for walking away from the military. I've learned a lot from him, so it is exciting to see interviews with him being readily available.

One the most insightful military leader of our time. His ability to plan and conduct special operations intimidated many General Officers during our generation. While many were promoted to the highest levels they were promoted not on intellectual prowess and common sense leadership but on posturing and political activities. Pete was a driven leader who did what was best for his men and mission accomplishments in the most challenging environments.

Always - talk to the guy on the ground - get them talking. They will expose critical points that you may not have thought of just through speaking in their train of thought.
