I just lost my standard poodle Service Dog to bloata couple of months ago. She was amazing and had a serious fanclub here where we lived. She knew what I needed before I did And was my life companion. Smart, calm, protective, loving, she was the best dog I ever owned. I miss her so much ❤️
The Standard Poodle is TOTALLY different than toys and miniatures. I had toys and minis my entire life and now have a Standard. The Standard is WAY more active than the smaller ones. I cannot believe the standard is even the same breed ... TOTALLY different.
lol yup... I have a toy poodle and he's not that active. He doesn't seem to like playing outside that much either, he just sits by the door and waits for us to let him back inside 😂
Hi Mike, Poodles are intelligent, so they are generally easy to train. I had a miniature poodle for 13 years, and I had no issue whatsoever with training. Size should not be a factor, but consistent training should be.
After losing my miniature poodle, my family found me a toy poodle. And still after all these years I've learnt alot about this breed, had few problems with my toy poodle and am on the case, he's 5 years old. Your video has given me ideas to continue with, thank you from UK 🇬🇧
There is a 4th size, Know as the Moyen a Moyen is in be tween the miniature and the standard. Unfortunately they are not recognized by the AKC. Mine is 17" at the shoulders and weighs 24 Lbs. She super smart and loves everybody and all other animals, She is amazing.
I have a Moyen poodle. She's 14 going on 15. Best doggie ever. She's a sweetheart, a cuddler, loves kids, but very spoiled. She wasn't a fan when i got my two Corgis. Very much loved being Ann only dog lol
Great video, very accurate, i love my poodles!! My small poodles are very active and intelligent. Yes they are wary of new people but soo sweet once they know you. Grooming regularly (every 4-6 weeks) is a MUST! For these dogs well-being, they need daily brushing maintenance too, do not get a poodle or poodle mix if you cannot commit to the regular grooming needs! Its cruel to let them get matted.
"they must be kept on a leash." No, not correct, they are easy to train, so it is totally fine to let them run free when allowed. poodles can be alone for more than one hour. I had podles all my life and some points in this video are not correct in my opinion.
We trained our poodle to walk round town without a leash during covid, when there was no traffic. Now she is more than capable of being off the leash in most situations, will not cross a road without command, etc.
We trained our mini to walk without a leash, she will not even cross a road without instruction. We still use the leash in high risk environments, but in general she has been walking without the leash for around 3 years without incident.
I had my mini for 18 years. I had already decided I did not want children and wanted a companion with intelligence. Let me just say - my poodle did everything but speak the words. He spoke with his eyes barks and body language. Just the smartest most amazing creature to have. Love him miss him and looking forward to finding another . Though he will never be replaced ! Love you Bai!!!!!
No matter what, all these creatures are our planet angels, most dog owners have special hearts for animals, well.... I wish some of them could have the same for humans 😛
I'm a dog groomer and poodles are the most common breed, most of them have very loving and relaxed personalities. If I ever were to own a poodle myself I would love a mini or a standard or well moyen if possible but they are rare where im from
My dog as you can see from my pfp is a poodle he is a teacup he’s three and only 3 lbs when we got him we thought he would grow to at least 5lbs but I guess not
@@personanon2879 Maybe write what AKC is. I have had three poodles. Poodle 1, a moyen (parents both moyens) + Poodle 2, who in some countrys, would have been a small standard ( Father a miniature ( also known (in my country) as a dwarf poodle, mother a moyen) + Poodle 3 a miniature (dwarf) Father a miniature (dwarf) mother a moyen and sister to poodle 2
