My most anticipated figure from the line (and the review I wanted to see the most) ! Looks great, just one tiny thing: he is fully based on the New 52 design, all of these figures are entirely based on a specific version drawn by Ivan Reis, just so happens the versions they pick look classic. (So New 52 Lantern, Luthor and Adam, Batman from the Last Rights comic, Green Arrow from Longbow Hunters)
How does he fair-up against previous Hal Jordan figures (DC Universe, Black Lantern Series, SDCC, Movie Masters)? A size comparison would have been great to see what this figure is really like.
Hey Spot, the review really helped, I hadn't seen this guy before and I'm a huge Green Lantern fan, the only figure I had was the Geoff Johns and Jim Lee New 52 design and thought it looks great, it had very little articulation, and I had to carve out a lot of the neck just to get him into a good flight pose and only really looks good hovering, glad to see they've finally made another figure. Thanks for the help!
I saw this for $26 dollars and even after watching this I'm kinda in the fence with buying this figure. I have Batman, Green Arrow, Flash and I'm getting Superman. Should I pick this one up as well?
I'm very much looking forward to getting some of these DC Icons figures in hand. They look very nice. My only issue is that the toy design hasn't quite gotten to the level of similar lines(ie. Marvel Legends) in the area of articulation. The lack of thigh swivels, restricted forward and backward movement at the hip joints, and the somewhat limited torso joints...these are all issues that shouldn't be present at this price point, especially when one considers the competition. I do have something to point out: This GL Hal Jordan design is actually from "Dark Days". In fact, all the DC Icons figures announced to this point use specific character designs from story arcs(ie. Last Rites for Batman, Chain Lightning for The Flash, and so on). I believe the source for the character design is printed on the left side of the box.
+Christian Tolentino This figure isnt out yet and wont be out till January. The only icons released so far are Green Arrow, Mr. Miracle, Batman and Deadman.
So, I finally got this figure. Love it! Hal is my third favorite superhero (Batman, Wonder Woman, GL) and I never had a figure with enery constructs. So that´s the main reason why I got him. BTW, the reason it has the design in the shoulders is because that story line is part of the New 52. Still, the box says it comes with 26 pieces and I only can count 25: 1) the figure 2)a forearm 3)a forearm 4)a hand, 5) another hand, 6)a replaceable hand, 7)the second replaceable hand 8)the left front boot 9)the left back boot 10)the right front boot 11)the right back boot 12)the left front part tigh armor 13)the left back part tigh armor 14)the right front tigh armor 15)the right back tigh armor 16)the left shoulder armor 17)the right shoulder armor 18)the main armor 19)the left wing 20)the right wing 21)the rockets 22)the arm canon one 23)the arm canon two 24)the lantern That´s it. Maybe you can count the missiles on the canon but those don´t come out and still would be 25 pieces. Still, it is am amazing figure with lots of displaying posibilities and finally Hal well deserved of a Deluxe treatment. ...now, the one I´m missing from this line that I want is Firestorm.
The thing is with this figure, and multiple people said this I’m pretty sure, but I wish instead of that weird armor, we got just cool constructs. I would have liked something similar to the Spider-Man classics sandman with multiple hand options. They should have kept the energy fist, and given him a hammer, etc. I LOVE that dc collectibles added so much stuff to an otherwise good figure to make it great, but I wish they gave us something besides an armor.
These ARE collectibles. Hasbro Marvel BAF series are cheap toys. Hasbro take notes. These extras dont seem like much but they add a level of pride andd caring. Marvel your movies rock but your BAF series S U C K S!!!!! DC is doing this set of figures. The quality shows. New molds. Excellent extras really help. Hasbro is weak compared to these. I own a ton of Marvel figures. I havent bought another Marvel since I saw the reviews in DCs figures. Top collectibles. And they are just getting started.
also marvel legends suck, most places have them for 20$ but huge chain stores like tru have them for 25$, same price for icons. and they use the same mold, most of the time ugly, cheap paints, bafs usually suck, articulation is great and thats about it unlike these figures, paint apps are great, new molds, articulation is ok for a dc collectable, and so on. ;)
+Igor's Reviews LOL whatever you say. But this figure came out on 12/16 (last Wed) along with Icons Black Adam, Lex Luthor and Blue Beetle. Your right on the price but $29.99 is still more than $20, which is what ML cost so my point still holds.
+Igor's Reviews Try again. Marvel Legends are $20 at TRU www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=54238616&cp=&parentPage=search If you don't like Marvel Legends more power to you and honestly I could care less, but check your facts and quit trying to bash things for the sake of bashing.
