i was born in 2002, but my grandma found a set of these at a yard sale and i fell in love with them as a child. this one was always my favorite, never knew it was kinda rare and expensive, wish i kept it lol
There are actually brands of rechargeable AA batteries that are 1.5v. Amazon basics is not one of them. Just as there are rechargeable batteries that last can be recharged more times before they are trash, some are higher capacity, also higher voltage (a mix of all these things). But I agree you need to use right voltage or you'd think a toy is broken. Fantastic video.
🤩Love it love it LOVE IT!! I was a Polly FANATIC in the 80s/90s, always dreamed of a big Pollyville, but only ever had a few compacts (only now do I realize how much my parents struggled back then, but as a kid I was oblivious I guess!), but I would make tiny houses out of tissue boxes, creating a sprawling cardboard village, endless fun!! I'd love to collect some for the nostalgia, but knowing me it wouldn't stop there LOL, so for now I'm satisfied getting a good Polly "fix" on your channel!! 😍
Oh my gosh, I wasn't the only one with a cardboard city in my room? My mom threw it out one day while I was at a birthday party (citing it as a fire hazard, in hindsight: she was right.) and I was so devastated! I shortly thereafter started getting Polly sets as gifts so the feeling passed.
@@PocketVintageToys LOL I guess it is a fire hazard, but that’s awesome it dovetailed into Polly Pocket! There’s something so alluring about miniatures, especially itty bitty ones!! ❤️
I just found your channel! It is so much fun going rebought all of your videos; keep up the good work. Despite having some of these sets as a kid and rediscovering them as an adult it is crazy that I’m still learning stuff about these sets. I didn’t know that it came with the play mat or that the lights changed color in the ballroom.
Thank you so much for being here! The lights in the ballroom were mind-blowing to me as a kid. Now that I know how they work as an adult, I really appreciate the detail that went into designing the set!
Heading Holly mention at the end how the second map seemed "easier to play with" knowing that she spent over a year trying to figure out what sets were supposed to go in it is a hilarious bit of foreshadowing.
I have this set! I'm missing several of the pieces though and only have one flag...which is damaged. I had to clean it really well when I first bought it. There was purple nail polish all over the greenhouse area. Luckily I was able to get it all off without damaging the playset. The lights work, but are really dim and the garage door spring came loose so the door doesn't open as easily anymore. I have considered trying to find one in better condition, but they're so expensive!
pretty sure having a washer and dryer in the kitchen is also common in North America. My washer and dryer are in a small nook in my kitchen and many of the houses I've lived in they were in a half bath or kitchen.
