iirc the reason why some people 'fear' Strong Zero is because its sweet enough that you'd barely notice its +9%, and might down a few can without minding it.

To the uninitiated, Strong Zero can really mess you up. Despite it's 8-9% alcohol content, it's sweet so it's easy to drink, so people may drink many in the same sitting and black out. Sometimes colloquially known as the "Gaijin Killer".
