very useful video, i want to do it in my toyota. It's just a pity that the camera wasn't always pointed at what you were doing, but I think I'll try (don't spoil it ;)
Mariusz thank you for your comment. Just the background of the video: i didn’t have the tripod at the time of this particular video. Now i have bought it and if you watch my next video you will see it. As per your suggestion i will try to keep all the work in focus next time. I did the same exact cleaning to my 2013 Auris... T-body, intake manifold, EGR valve and pipe, the result? Car doesn't even move nor switch to gas! A series of errors come out, among which an EGR related error... I am desperate!!😢
Hi was wondering i have a Toyota Auris 2018 and it’s clocked 150000 miles. The garage says I need to get the egr valve changed which is costing me £900. But from your video the egr pipe is made of metal and the value looks pretty secure. Why would they have to replace it in your opinion? I haven’t had any accidents. Unless it has been damaged it shouldn’t have to be replaced right?
What happens is egr valve gets clogged as car does the mileage every 60000 miles. And garage is not asking you to change the pipe. They are proposing to change the valve. They don’t bother cleaning and putting it back cos it is time consuming. But if you like to do it yourself it will save alot of money and you will not have buy the parts. But if you wanna get it done from garage I highly recommend get the new EGR valve so you will have pieces of mind. If you are in Manchester i can do this job for you.
Hey thanks for the video. I’m about to do an emergency clean on my Prius EGR valve and pipe since I’m having problems while on vacation. In your vid you show cleaning the pipe but I didn’t see you clean the valve. How did you clean it? I saw someone else say you need to soak for for a few hours upside down? Thanks for your advice
1) The only way to clean the valve is soak it in a cleaner for few hours or for best results leave it overnight. 2) if you don’t wanna wait replace it with the new one. Thanks for your interest.
