Just barely purchased my XLE Prem 2018 3 mnths ago, and can't really find tutorials on how to do stuff at all!! Thank you so much for this video. I appreciate it.
This video is such a big help. Thank u so much. I was about to ask u what about the middle light and boom! Thank u, please don't hesitate filming how u did it it's better than nothing. 👍👍👌
Wiring White with black stripe: Ground Green: Tail light Blue: Brake light Yellow: Turn signal Use 22-24 gauge quick splices. I used 18-20 gauge and had to use considerable force to get them to bite into the wires.
Sorry, can't say for sure without opening my car back up, but i remember the lights having similar guage as the car wires. The smaller quick splice should work for both.
Good explanatory video, but it would be 100x better if you had recorded the whole process..... I want to change the tail lights to the euro ones. They look way better!!
Sorry, this is over my head, I'm not a mechanic. Newer models may also have features that mine didn't. its possible that you bumped and misaligned a sensor somewhere.
See my comment above for wire colors for the Toyota harness. Every after market light might be different. So what you'll want to do is first connect ground to the car. This is probably black. Then take a live wire from the car and start touching them to the different wires on your light to see what lights up. Get yourself a cheap volt meter so you can tell when a wire is live.
The front lights I bought Look like the should pop right in from the inside, but they do not fit right. They need to be trimmed, and I'm not sure you can tell how to trim them without removing the bumper. I never installed mine.
Sorry I couldn't hold your hand through the whole process. Hold on a sec while I get that car back from the dealership, rip everything out, and do it again.
I posted this video because I found no instructions anywhere on the internet at the time. I had already completed the job but figured it was better than nothing. The job is simple and if you follow my instructions, they will help. Or you can ignore me, go figure it out on your own, waste a bunch of time, and make your own video.
