Me here with a 1999 Toyota Corona at 185,000 KM's Have had new spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter and replaced the alternator in the past year Am planning to add 2 new tyres to it, brake fluid and steering fluid next week Car runs like a dream and I give it regular oil changes 👍
Ect power is simple it. It holds on to a gear longer. Switching on ECT PWR will change gears later in the rev range. Doesn't mean it makes any more power. It used to hold a gear longer when you are towing a weight or hauling a big weight. ECT Manu or is designed to hold a gear. It locks whatever gear you are in for a longer time. If you put it to L and then switch on Manu. It will work as a first gear and then you have to manually shift to 2. And it will lock only the 2nd gear and switching it to D will lock in thr 3rd gear. Difference is. If you put the gear to 2 without manu mode it will shift between 1 and 2 on manu mode it locks only to 2 *while moving* basically use the L,2,D manually. It is sort of like a sports mode
@@POVSriLanka Really Really Really Helpful. But in a manual gear transmission car we see that at a certain revolution point changing the gear there is really good for the engine which is called 'Perfect Shift'. So in case of this car, which is the perfect shifting point?
@@ahnaaftahmid3429 for that one I can't help you I am afraid, I do not drive a lot of manual cars to answer that. My guess is to find the peak torque of your engine but I am not sure.
@@POVSriLanka I hope that whoever is the new owner takes good care of it... We also had to sell our 2001 Toyota Corolla AE121 earlier this year and I was literally crying then... I used to wash and cold start it for almost so many years... It was like a family member to me...
Overdrive is basically the 4th gear. Switch it off and the gears are limited to a 3 Speed automatic. When you want more power climbing up a steep road you switch it off to stay in lower gears.
