Beautiful Jeff!! a question? what does your speedo read while in 5th gear on the highway at 70 mph?? I have a 1985 4runner SR5 5 speed with the 22re and 5:29 gearing, mine is off by 4mph, 65@3,000rpm. this is with 35in tires. please advise, thanks!!!
i got an 88 too! i got a dana60 from pick and pull for $200, and a front dana 44 for $150. slowly piecing everything together but hopefully by doing that i won't be spending that much as would if i bought a kit. i hope
How loud is the gear whine on a double transfer case set-up like this? My buddy has just the 4.7 in his 1st gen 4Runner and it sounds like an RC truck.
When you did the 4.7 gears did you do 21 or 23 spline? If you did the 23 spline was there anything else needed besides the new gear set?Which adapter did you use? I am thinking of adding the 4.7 to my rear case, currently I’m 2.28 in both. Great looking rig! Hope it’s still running strong for you!
I went with the 23 spline and trail gear adapter. I ordered the cases fully built so I’m really not sure if anything else inside them is different between the 21 and 23 spline.
