Toyota electronic parking brake or what is that noise when I shift into park?

Appreciate the video Steve!, just bought a toyota LC300 a few weeks back. The parking noise is silent in the cabin but boy did it come as a surprise when i had the window down... dealer wants to check it out but i guess this is it. Guess I'll still pay em a visit.

I just figured this out when a friend arrived with a rental. She had the door open when she put it in gear and then shut the door. The car wouldn't move. I could tell the rear brake was "on" . I had her put it in park and then back in gear and then it moved so I'm pretty sure the door ajar system is in the loop.

I had 22 Corolla that it froze after being parked in a big snow storm. Almost had to have the car towed but finally got it to release. I disable the auto mode after that. Disabled it on my 24 Tacoma as well
