We often have customers who can’t figure out the difference and decide between the two most popular Japanese import cars: Nissan Elgrand and Toyota Estima.
In this video we compare a 2005 Toyota Estima AERAS with 8 seats with a 2005 Nissan Elgrand VG AERO with 8 seats.
We show you the differences between the dimensions, cabin layout and boot space.
If you'd like to know more, read my blog post Toyota Estima Vs Nissan Elgrand: www.bestpeoplemovers.com.au/b...

Sorry for the late reply, I hope you've already figured it out. There should be three anchor points in any imported Elgrand (installed by compliance shop) - one in the middle row and two at the back

HI can you do a comparison video of the next shape up from this shape of the estima and the elgrand please?

Do you mean Elgrand e52? The thing is E52 is allowed only up to May 2012 into Australia. I guess we could do E52 vs Series 3 Estima (2012-2016), thank you for the idea

Out of all the Vans you have reviewed. What would you recommend for a Van life conversion.
@bestpeoplemovers
@bestpeoplemovers Год назад
I'd do Toyota Hiace, it's boxy and big. Elgrand is good but it's going to be too much on petrol. Estima is perfect, but a bit small, it will suit one person or two (with less comfort)

What do you recommend on narrow roads...I am in Ireland and Iam looking at getting a Japanese import...I am unable to decide between a Toyota Estima vs Nissan Elgrand...which one would you recommend... I am leaning towards Estima as I might get a Hybrid option... How has been your experience with Estima..only reason I am bit nervy about Estima is because..I have heard a review from a relative of mine in Australia..that it gave him a problem due to some oil..not sure exactly...Hoping you can suggest something here...😊 Thanks in Advance.

Hi there, Estima is a bit easier to use and maintain. It's also cheaper to buy and parts are more available. Overall, it's a great car. You just need to be very careful and 1. organise pre-purchase mechanical inspection to make sure there's no rust and oil was changed regularly by previous owners. 2. Do a mileage and accident check: www.bestpeoplemovers.com.au/mileage-verification/ Hope this helps. Good luck! Natalia

I have a 2006 Estima G without the Aeras body kit and I love mine. Having no body kit means it's not as low to the ground. I'm after another Estima for a second car. Not sure to go with another V6 or a four cylinder. Does anyone know if the 2.4 versions are "slow"?
@snowmean1
@snowmean1 Год назад
2.4 is definitely not as "fast" and torquie as 3.0 v6, but they are sufficient, you unlikely will be limited by it in the city, however running uphill on the highway might be less fun on 2.4. On the other side 2.4 are extremily versitile, and much cheaper to maintain/repair comparing to V6.
@bradleybyrnes9907
@bradleybyrnes9907 Год назад
@@snowmean1 I'll stick with the V6, very little goes wrong with them and they don't work as hard as the 2.4 to keep a heavy vehicle moving. My current Estima actually uses about the same amount of fuel as my Camry as the motor is so relaxed even full of passengers.
@snowmean1
@snowmean1 Год назад
@@bradleybyrnes9907 sure but be aware that before 2003 facelift V6 engine was killing transmission due to higher torque, which wasn't an issue with 2.4. Another issue with V6 is replacing spark plugs which are pointed towards the driver and require pretty much entire top engine disassembly, as pretty much any maintenance with far head of V6.
@bradleybyrnes9907
@bradleybyrnes9907 Год назад
@@snowmean1 mine is a 2008 with 3.5 V6 and 6 speed auto,, not the earlier 3.0.

once you drive them both you will definitely go with the estima . the nissan drives like a bus ! creaks and groans and drums inside . revs live crazy doing 100 klm on highway . the toyota estima drives like a car . quiet and tight ! very comfy and drives low rpm and easily cruises 110klm hr . don’t buy the v6 it chews the fuel . buy the 2.4 4 cyl or the hybrid petrol / electric . very very good cars
@bestpeoplemovers
@bestpeoplemovers 3 года назад
Thank you, Shane. Estima does drive like a very good car, however, a lot of my customers prefer Elgrand saying that driving one is like an event to them. Elgrands have a more pronounced wow factor and more space. As for noises on Elgrand, it's very true but only for S1 and S2 up to 2008. Series 3 E51 is magnificent, especially 2010 - 300 series. Beautiful to drive.

@@bestpeoplemovers yes we drive a 2006 elgrande . was very disheartening! creaks and groans . the drumming effect inside the cab . plus it had no easy cruise on the engine was regina hard at 100 klm hr . was the car for us . yes it looks grand and has flash harry status but we love the Toyota Estima . so quiet so smooth and cruises so easily at 110 klm hr . fantastic economy on the highway drives but a little heavy in the fuel consumption around city . but we love it. very well made car .
@bestpeoplemovers
@bestpeoplemovers 3 года назад
@@shaneanderson1036 thought so. Especially if you got to drive one of the neglected or clocked back E51s. Unlike Estima, they are not resilient and if neglected will really show it. The genuine low mileage ones are really good. I sold a 2005 VG (velour trim) with 52,000km last year, it was one of the best Elgrands I ever drove. I didn't want to sell it :) In the end sold to an elderly mechanic from Dubbo, he calls me every two three month to say thank you.
@bestpeoplemovers

It’s not a secret that the Australian market is flooded with accident, low quality and fake mileage imports - the less importers pay at the auctions in Japan, the more money they make when they sell. To avoid stress, disappointment and loss of $$$, check out my page 'How to Verify Mileage": www.bestpeoplemovers.com.au/mileage-verification/

The Estima rear seat looks more comfy to me, if your stuck in the middle for a long drive in the Elgrand it would suck. Is the centre rear seat of the Estima more comfy than the Elgrand counterpart?
@bestpeoplemovers
@bestpeoplemovers 4 года назад
Hey, Uncle Skidz, :), thank you very much for your feedback. I haven't spent many hours in the centre seats of both cars so I can't really comment on that. However, that seat in Elgrand is surprisingly comfortable when you try it. It looks very small, yet when you sit on it, it gives you a good support
