Hey thanks for the time you put into this video. It's 2024 and this is the only video that a skilled amateur (lol) like me could find that actually showed the steps needed to open up this fuse block. I appreciate you posting this!

Glad it helped. There was voiceover to help explain but some time after upload the voiceover went away.

You were right about no decent videos or other info on the web for that matter, about getting these fuse boxs apart and the fuseable links out. I was on the right track but decided to do one more search before I got in too far. Thanks for posting this!

Good luck. I tore it apart and used a corrosion protective grease.

@@98eck Got it out, had one filament fried. Everything went back together fine. Not too bad once you know what you're doing! Thanks again for the vid!

Yours is the best video on the fuse box tear down! A shame about the missing sound. Why not do a audio track and dub your video with it? Just record as you watch your video and then change audio tracks. It was good lighting, good photography and told us what others did not. Good job!!

Did you really need to unbolt the bottom screw holding the fusebox in place ? Seems like you opened the left tab to just pick it apart and get access to back. Struggling with same issue
@98eck
@98eck Год назад
I think I had to in order to get the fusebox high enough to remove the cover that hide the bolts. If you can remove those bolts (2 or 3) that go through the fuse you can remove it without any extra work.

The cable that’s held by the nut at 3:30. Does anyone know what that cable is called? Mine is corroded

You could possibly have a ground issue going on. Could also be corrosion. Check the fuses that power each thing. It's hard to tell you where to look. There could be an issue in the harness in the engine bay or under the car. When it rains it's possible exposed wires are getting wet and it's losing power.

How to get the second one out?!?!

I'm not 100% sure but looking at how short the bolts are, that held this one in, I'm guessing you remove the plastic on that side and they're bolts holding that fuse in also. I'm just guessing at the moment.

How did you get 5:46 out?

Removed plastic cover around box, removed bolts holding it in, then unclipped the ends and pulled straight up.

I hate to be that person but uhm you could of easily removed those fuseable links by removing that corner piece from the box itself . There’s a very simple video showing that but anywhoos thanks for the video none the less

The ones with the bolts through them?

@@98eck do you mean the bolts from the bottom ? Because you would be correct on how to remove it if that’s the case but I’d like to add that while the same year make and model of car are alike depending on region they will very much not be the same in all fuse box designs . Mine is same make and model as the one in this video you have shared with us but mine has only a nut on the fusible link that runs to a ground wire obviously and that is all while others have the nut as pictured and then bolts located on the bottom as well but to remove the corner piece that holds the wires in to the box located next to the fusible links all should slide out the same way so access that easily

Thanks for posting, I'm about to dismantle my car to replace the fusable link. What a stupid design to have it bolted in and then you have to dismantle the whole assebly to replace it. I love toyota but this is a poor design. Can I get an AMEN?!
