Wow, I think this was just what i needed to see! I've been debating the newer turbo diesel hiaces over the older front locking hub non turbo's. I was afraid I'd get stuck in sandy places I will be camping in the U.S. southwest deserts. Now i see just how capable these are with a two inch lift and offroad style tires. Cheers!
Go get em mate. Have fun. There is another video that I have done on another beach that was even softer than this one. Check it out on my channel. Yehaa.
Hey Paul thanks for the video. Seeing these AWD HiAces in action is helpful. I'm considering buying, but only reservation is servicibility in oz. She people say mechanics won't touch the imports, others say even Toyota dealership is happy to work on them. Do you have any experience with that? Thanks again mate!
Sick one mate, i bought a 2008 about 6 months ago, just started to take it on the beach, I was a bit worried at the start but got surprised how well they go and after watching this vid and how soft and rough as guts that beach was i am not worried at all if i go any dodgy beaches. I have AT tyres and lifted mine another 2 inches, was super easy.
Yes mate. Go get ‘em. The only thing that worries me with mine,is that I don’t have a solid tow point at the front. If I was to get pulled out of a bog using the nudge bar mounting point, I run the risk of pulling the front end off. A 4WD mob that I asked told me that I need a proper bull bar if I want to be pulled out from the front.
@@lewhamy7445 I had airbags installed in the rear. I wouldn’t recommend this though. It has made it too harsh a ride and too bouncy. The front is easy, there is an adjustment on the front torsion bar. You can wind it up at least 40mm. It is located underneath about half way back.
@@Paulc8122 yes it's true hilux diff centre straight in with your axles used , ratios are same just get wiring harness to power diff lock from switch that even fits the hiace too, and 200 land crusier front diff is fitted to hiace also matching ratio
