The car you see above is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, an SUV that has been so successful in America, Australia, and other parts of the world that Toyota set out to replicate its success in the Middle East. This is what I call a concise review. Details on its looks, practicality, features and performance were delivered in just the perfect manner. While Toyota seems to be democratising its hybrid powertrains to its entire lineup, the drive is one bit where it needs to focus hard. The normal gasoline powered Toyotas were never known for their spirited driving pleasure and it seems the hybrid powertrain doesn't come as a sigh of relief at all. However, I think just like every other Toyota models, the Highlander too will sell like hot cakes because of its fuel efficiency and the bullet-proof dependability.

I received the car today They did a great job and it is like new again. You wouldn't know it was previously in a accident. My gratitude to the engineers and workmen who returned the car to like new condition. As for the accident, I really hope it doesn't happen to anyone and I really hope that al futtaim is ready if God forbid it happens to anyone. I never got a car to borrow from the dealership, but they did waive the 1,000 dirham deductible insurance charge because of the 2 month wait, but I spent about 6000 dirhams from my pocket already to get by. This is still surely my favorite car and I still recommend it. I just kindly request al futtaim for better service to those who need it when an unfortunate incident happens. Drive safely everyone and take care.

Hey hey! How are you? Have u tested the sound system of this vehicle? Literally no automotive youtuber in UAE. Does that. Can u please tell me how the 6-speaker sound system sounds? Is it average, good, great or the best? Pretty sure it lies between good and great.

Toyota is providing the Highlander with a VVT and a VVT-i engine. That engine is used in Hyundai Accent and other small sedans. Whereas in China, USA and Australia, the top variant comes with a D-4ST engine with All-Wheel-Drive. I own a 2016 Toyota Highlander in China, it is the top variant (Sport AWD: Equivalent to XSE AWD). My highlander is more powerful than the one being sold in UAE.

@@YallaMotorEnglish thank you so much. I am researching and looking to buy a new car. I have test driven the Toyota Prado 2020 V6 and it was a very nice drive. I haven't tried the highlander hybrid. I don't go off roading, and a smooth ride is priority for me I would appreciate your opinion between the Highlander and Prado as well. Thanks so much

Hi Aaed, We're more than happy to help you decide on your next car. Personally, if you do not go off-road, then you will be much happier with the Highlander Hybrid, it is far smoother and far more fuel efficient in the city as well. Moreover, why do you want to spend your hard-earned money on features such as a low range gearbox, 4wd system etc when you are not going to use them? Since you seem to be a family man and you are looking for a smooth drive as well as passenger comfort, do you want to try the Honda Odyssey out? We know MPVs aren't a big market here, but trust us, it will fall into the same price range you're looking at, will give you a LOT more features, and the comfort you will get will be unmatched. Try it out and do let us know what you finally decide to go with. Good luck and do let us know if we can help in any other way!

I am not a family man yet :) but just prefer slightly bigger cars for that extra space and comfort for leg room since I'm in my early 30s and about Anas's height. I'm also a cool relaxed man so mid size SUVs that drive smoothly even on rough/cracked roads are my preference. Off roading is very rare for me and only happens when I make a detour in construction site. The Honda Oddysey seems too big however. I will most likely go for the Highlander hybrid in this case. Thanks again :)

Hi Mehboob, No the Highlander is a Hybrid and that is why it will only be available with a petrol engine.

Fantastic car, Very fuel efficient, smooth and elegant. I love it. Unfortunately you can't afford to be in an accident even if it was the other person's fault. I was in a small accident on July 11, 2021. Just the bumper. It was light, my speed was below 20km/hr. Al futtaim apparently is not ready for the responsibility of this car. No parts. It is September 1, 2021 and my damaged car is still at the agency's repair location. Spending a daily amount of 100 to 120 dirhams just for transportation, I am left with no car till now. I paid for this car in full and not even a spare car from the agency to lend me while waiting for the repair. I will reply back on this post the day I receive my repaired car back.

Hey Ritesh, No it isn't available in India yet. Maybe once Toyota starts introducing its hybrid line-up, the Highlander will make its way to India.
