@@zrxnxmd Yeah Ford windows so tint you cant see shite and probably filled with bricks to even the playing field. (FYI Wildtrack stock weight is heavier than Hilux)
Both are quite good pick ups aren't they mostly fairly equal or near enough. I admire Toyota. The name. The company. The integrity of the product. However the Ford is pretty damn good too. Conclusion from this video is possibly a draw. Depends on the tyres on both cars though. That is important.
The Hilux was the Toyota that almost flipped over during the moose test at half the speed every other vehicle in its class did. Too bad the "brains" didn't think of keeping the thing upright.
@@hasanalikhann Its not made for rough conditions full stop. The new Hilux is a flop under powerd the dash is ugly as f..ck very limited in what you get for your money. Its just a bucket of shit. What you get in the ranger far exceeds the Hilux only toyota fans keep on buying them. The last hilux the 3 litre was a top machine. Im not biased in any way but this hilux is just a flop.
both trucks have power but in this tug of war there are many factors to consider aside from the engine torque, one is the weight of the vehicle, second is the grip of tires, third is the level and the quality of the terrain
Le Meilleur c'est le Hilux. Regardez les roues des deux véhicules. Le véhicule dont les roues tournent beaucoup est celui qui fait le plus d'efforts. Donc qui souffre le plus.
@@manous80 It’s like you didn’t even read the comment. The Ford looks like it’s on looser ground than the Hilux. The test itself is useless because so many factors make it unfair to either of them
Both are powerfull. But as you Can see trough the wheels,in fact the ford's wheels are turning too much because it needs a lot of effort. the wheels of the toyota are turning very little. It's not suffering during this battle. Look, you will sera. #Toyota Power#.
Tires do matter.. what can hp and torque do if you lack traction. The same logic why battle tanks run on steel tracks, not on highway tires.. the same way why motorcross bikes run on knobby tires, not slick racing tires.. Combined; HP, torque, tires, and driver skill are all beneficial to win such events.
I got the Ford ranger. Best car I ever bought. I can drive at 50 kph in top gear and it just chugs along. I think the body was made in Thailand. 3,000 litre turbo diesel.
Is yours a manual or Auto ? my mates son has one , his is a manual and has found the manual gearbox to be problematic , he keeps blowing over drive . The problem i suspect is that even though you can chug along in over drive , They are really not designed or built for that , over drive is your weakest gear , and accelerating in overdrive from low speed puts a lot of load on it , particularly if towing , i think he does do a fair bit of towing .
mikldude you are correct. Mine is manual. I don't push my vehicle when I'm in overdrive. Going up rises I don't accelerate which means I'm slowing down whilst Country driving. These vehicle can chug along. When carrying a load anything can put a strain on all parts from suspension, brakes etc. I always take off at the lights very slow and cruise everywhere. You don't use as much fuel and the motor will love you for it. Including clutch, diff etc. Think about if you were racing. You constantly need to perform maintenance on the vehicle. Like using power tools. You push it and it will overheat. Well cars have antifreeze so that may not happen. I guess you know what I mean. You gotta be like Mr Magoo. Your car will last.
@@alaricace8118 never truck moved, the point is one was trying harder the difference ( if there is one is ) so small that nethier can make any gains with it. I was simple pointing out that the ranger wasn't "losing control" like others have stated.
I have worked with the Hilux in a farm. Nothing stands its way, literally. It easily plowed a 3 month old sugar cane field when the single-laned dirt road was blocked by a big truck forcing me to ram the crops in order to get passed it. Take note, it was a stock Toyota Hilux 2.8 1GD-FTV, with nearly bald stock tires. Proven and tested. Verdict: The hilux is more capable than you think.
Que las ponga en el asfalto ahí no van a patinar estos tipos no saben nada, por eso cuando ay que sacar a alguien en la tierra siempre patinan porque no es nada sólido.
I stand with the Ranger.....the Toyota had passengers inside for extra weight and bouncing 😂 but still it didn't make it. 💪Ford Ranger 3.2 is a beast 🦬
Buddy it was It was ok before they stopped production then they decided to bring it back the toyota hilux has been in production since it was called the toyota pick up so late 70s
it doesn't mean the ranger is shit. I like both trucks. the ranger is not a bad truck. even if the hilux is still in production for the past 40 years, it doesn't mean the ranger is bad
The hilux is majorly on top for many many aspects . The biggest one for me is while towing capacities are similar the Ranger has extreme poor gmv capacity!! Meaning the ranger can only tow the full weight if it is totally empty ! That is a killer for me . The BT50 craps all over the ranger in this regard as well !! The BT50 can tow 3 1/2 ton with a full ton in the back as well ! Just something to consider....
Tom Rey for fucks sake have you got no idea or what? This comparison has nothing to do with hp or torque. Its down to weight. The ranger has way more power and torque but both are very similar in weight hence the even outcome. You are incredibly ignorant!!
I think there is an advantage for Toyota Hilux All Terrain (AT) tires over Ford Ranger Highway Terrain (HT) tires in the sand tug of war in regards for the tire they used.
Both an excellent powerful and luxurious way to travel. The thing is we dont know about other places but here the drivers of these urban missiles tend to snap, crackle and then pop.
Nope Ford no the Ford had a tub full of water. Ranger has a larger turbo. A 5 cylinder and 3.2 litres Hilux has a smaller turbo and 2.8 litre 4 cylinder. You do the math on the one
All jokes aside,i am in Australia and drive a 1998 toyota hilux SR5,4x4 twin cab ute. I have driven only Hilux utes for 30 yrs now and in that whole time would not have spent a grand in repairs in total. My current hilux just gets fuel put in it.I wish i could say i maintain my vehicles, but i don't.It did give it an oil and oil filter and petrol filter change four years ago i guess.Wow,the years go quick.I needed some leads and plugs a couple of years ago too. Currently,my fuel gauge is wonky because i siphoned out fuel for the lawn mower and stuffed the float or something, so that's a pain. The clip is also broken on the fuel cap cover so need two people, one pulling the lever under the dash and one levering the cover open. One of the electric windows does not wind down either. In years previous to the Toyota Hilux i drove a Holden HG ute,a bloody rust bucket, and then an XB ford ute, where i probably spent more in door handles than any repairs on my Toyota Hilux...I am in self isolation due to this covid -19 virus, the reason for the long post.Nothing better to do......Stay safe out there guys..Cheers mates.
Le combat a été gagné par le Hilux. Quand on regarde bien les roues, on voit que le Ranger faisait trop d'efforts, et les roues tournaient trop. Par contre les roues du Hilux tournaient très peu, et donc le Hilux faisait moins d'efforts.
does that hilux have a "crawl" feature like the ones in the toyota tacomas? It was barely spinning it's wheels like it was almost on a standstill while the rangers were spinning like there's no tomorrow..
pfft! I haven’t driven these latest models, and I’m guessing most here haven’t (that’s why we’re here checking and doin our homework) but historically both makes and models are tried n true. Neither are going to “fall to bits”. The tug if war is about which one has more power, but my above comment touches on which truck would tow a load for longest. It’s a mute point. You’d have to take both trucks beyond reasonable driving times and conditions till one of them finally over heated or popped a seal. Or drive them side by side for twenty years by twins and compare maintenance costs. Twenty tears from now we’d probably still be arguing over which is better!
Must be on tarred road, only drivers of relatively the same mass , same tires, both full tank with same kind of gasoline ( in essence all playing fields must be levelled )
Guys it's the 21st century and you still complain about spellings? Move with the times mates. Short-hand has come and evolved so the most important thing is you understand his point. Right
Dean farrells wagon. These tug of wars are fun to watch but mostly depends how n who gets momentum at the start , not really a endorsement of either vehicles ability
