Great review. The Taigun ticks most of the boxes. The Astor is a brilliant package too. The Hyryder/Vitara twins slightly disappoint due to their build quality, but are good in many other aspects.
This segment is the most demanded segment. Every car is the best in the above-presented video. My favourite is Astor, which has a lot of features and is reasonably priced.
Wonderful video, I booked Grand Vitara Smart Hybrid and Hyryder Hybrid. I am planning to go with Toyota because of the fantastic smooth engine combination, and that car is fulfilling almost all checks I needed as a small family car. VW is fantastic undoubtedly but size of vehicle, missing panoramic sunroof and missing of rear disc brakes stopped me to move further.

My friend has creta 1.4 turbo petrol which gives around 10 kmpl in city where as Toyota Hyryder hybrid easily gives more than 22kmpl. With the ever increasing petrol prices its better to go with hybrid cars. The only drawback in hybrid cars is less boot space.
Creta is still best at this segment with the price point and under the hood comparison. I have compared all of them and bought creta sx manual petrol and fully satisfied with it.
If monthly running is only 1000, stick to smart hybrid. As the premium being charged for the Hybrid is too much. However, the smart hybrid won't be as peppy
Great comparison. I have booked the Toyota Hyryder Hybrid as it looks amazing in midnight black and looks likes nothing else on the road at the price point. Only downside is the Suzuki like interiors but they are very premium. It feels really punchy, don't go on the numbers. VW and Astor look like Sonet rivals and Creta is just boring and old at this point. Too many on the road. If VW offered something a bit bigger, I would have definitely preferred the Skoda version of the same.
❤💥Absolute perfect video! Agree with you. ASTOR could get the more sell , but you forgot to tell the SEMICONDUCTOR shortage which MG had , it was highest among other brand & this was the reason on initial low sales. It was VW / SKODA who dipped out many features like auto diming ORVM & other for faster production due to SHORTAGE ,Not MG and even a child can say ASTOR has the most TECH involved among all.
@@ranjithk9150 yes in city but creta/seltos gives the same too but YOU KNOW OUR SOCIAL MEDIA 😅 My frnd has seltos anniversary edition petrol manual NA engine he's getting same as my astor CVT
@@kaushaldesai5126 Astor CVT, rather 1.5 NA felt really underpowered, since I do highway trips that was striked off. Seltos IVT test drive again felt underpowered, it takes time to gain speed, once it does it picks up. I liked the hyryder hybrid, because of the motor it feels peppy and gets upwards of 20kmpl in city and close to 20kmpl on highways. Have to compromise boot which is ok.
@@ranjithk9150 THAT'S the feeling you get in NA engine it's naturally it CAN't be defined as UNDERPOWERED as NATURAL ASPIRATED engine always perform like this. anD whether it kia or mg both TESTED their engine on very large global parameters. And talking about mileage yes HYRYDER has gret more than 22kmpl in city but highway it's more or less 20kmpl and the price gap between mg and HYRYDER is almost 5 lakh ₹
@@kaushaldesai5126 It doesn’t matter why it’s underpowered, it’s underpowered at the end of the day and doesn’t satisfy my requirement. The turbo petrols from every manufacturer is very low on city mileage, will be round about 10kmpl and will be similarly in pricing to hyryder. An alternative would be the diesel from Kia / Hyundai but that comes with DPF issues. Hybrid is the best balance of power and mileage. If you look at turbo petrol automatics, or diesel automatics which are decently loaded in terms of features, the price difference with respect to hyryder is not much and hyryder becomes the sensible choice. Here are my observations on the choices we have. Astor - sharp (the one below savvy) turbo : Has everything I need. Pro will be the perfect build, premium interiors, unique touches like usb port for dash cam etc. priced 22L approx on road bangalore. The biggest negative is sub par mileage in city. VW - Škoda twins - top end trims in either 1.0 AT or 1.5 DSG : Has almost all features I need, best in class safety, decent mileage excellent power and dynamics no matter what engine you go with. Negative will be, the reliability of 1.0L turbo (EPS issues and things like that) or if you go with 1.5 evo, the DQ 200 DSG box. The overall dimensions gives them more like a hatch look than SUV looks. Prices 21L and above depending on whether you go for 1.0L AT top end or 1.5L DSG top end. Creta - Seltos : all good, but below par safety(deal breaker) and reliability of DCT in turbo petrols. DPF issues in diesel. Top ends cost upwards of 22L. Hyryder / GV - Hyryder G hybrid has all the features I need, excellent city mileage. Not as powerful as turbo petrols but not as underpowered as NA petrols. The performance figures are comparable to the diesel in Kia / Hyundai. Felt very peppy when I test drove. Best in class ground clearance. Priced at 21.5L onroad for G variant. Built in Global C platform from Suzuki which has scored 4 stars in Brezza, so expect better in these cars. Compromise in boot space is the biggest negative, headroom compromise doesn’t effect me or my family much. Overall with my research, for my requirement hyryder G hybrid is the best suited available at the market right now.
Hello With Hybrids you save a lot of money on running cost (about Rs 3-4 per km) but you also pay a lot extra over a non hybrid. To recover this money, you need to drive a lot. Yes apart from savings / low running cost Hybrids also provide joy of EV mode :-)
Please suggest between Hyryder Strong Hybrid V vs Xuv700 AX5 petrol automatic I like Hyryder a lot but disappointed with its interiors (looks like Baleno) and safety is a question mark because of its build quality. I like Xuv700 AX5 petrol automatic but it misses 2 key features that I want - ventilated seats and 360 camera. My monthly running in very low.
💥💥🥳 1000% satisfied OWNER OF ASTOR since more than 1 year. current Fuel Economy( HIGHWAY-16+,MIX=14,CITY-never ask🤪) .I got my TOP end CVT ASTOR in bit less than 17 lakhs on road which has all features Here, in GUJARAT Maruti & Toyota Cost around 22lakh ON ROAD so in that 5 LAKH i can enjoy each and every ride of my ASTOR for a long YEARS and cost CVT is low too . Service experience of astor - MG ranked TOP IN SERVICE so NO problem in that .
I test drove the Astor and came back super impressed. This is the most underrated compact SUV in India. The car is solidly built, has great seating ergonomics from the driver, plush interiors and superb ride quality. The only let down is the rear bench middle seat.
@@kaushaldesai5126 Yes, exactly. Coming from a pre-FL S-CROSS, I find it hard to convince myself that the replacement is an upgrade, particularly in terms of rear seating comfort
If u like Hyryder and your only concern is about the sunroof blind then go for it because it is a complete package, you will get best looks , best engine from maruti and best service from toyota.. And for your concern put a black film on the sunroof ( if u ask how much percentage it's your choice) it will cut excess light and it is not illegal. enjoy 😘
The reality of grand Vitara is the 1.5L K15c mild hybrid engine variant. You're basically comparing the same car while putting down Hyryder and praising GV. Toyota should have never borrowed the mild hybrid variants and Suzuki should have never borrowed the hybrid system so Toyota could've saved cost on production and given better and unique interiors and be unique on their own. Hyryder is the better suv between those two because it gets proper Toyota reliability, more warranty and better service experience. Other choices are consumer preference.
Praising GV? Bunny infact said that for strong hybrid, Hyryder is better buy. See verdict. In terms of reliability, well technically speaking, it should be same as both the SUVs are made by Toyota its plant.
I think Taigun, Astor, and Creta are best in the segment but specified for particular reasons and features. And they all are good at it. I like the features the MG is providing in their cars.
Namaskar sir🙏, much awaiting for Toyota strong Hyder ans Honda e-Hybrid sedan.. Please kindly make available, Because I am confused between three cars another one is Skoda Kushaq 1.5 DSG.. My preference SAFETY, Stability, & Driving pleasure. In city and Highways, thank🙏 you expected your reply as my purchase in March 23..
20kmpl is the possible FE of Grand vitara in the HIGHWAY ride ( as per your YOUTBE reviews) And not less than 23 kmpl in City ride. So it's simple in City run MARUTI is best ( but beware that in cities like delhi mumbai ahmedabad riding C SEGEMENT Suv is A loooooooot of FUN 😅😅 😅 you can't do quick corners But maruti ignis + astor/taigun = peace of mind 😅
I think Toyota hybrid is much better than maruti hybrid bec the technology is toyota's,and they are well known for hybrid. Toyota share the hybrid platform with maruti .
Please do drive the toyoto hyder full tank ,let us know kilometre driven using the full tank similar to the grand vitara since it's same engine but yes Wight wise both the vehicles varies!!
Chinese vs Indo-psuedoJapanese vs PsuedoJapanese-Indo vs Korean vs German. A car is your second home and carries your entire family and their aspirations. Would you like anything that scores less than a 5 star. Think & decide! I would love to see a comparison video when every car here scores a Euro ENCAP 5 star and for now it's just an irrelevant comparison.
need a driver's car, nothing come close to volkswagen taigun or skoda kushaq. need a chauffeur driven car, go for a grand vitara or toyota hyryder - great suspension and fuel economy, but very poor engine response. if u require features only, go for hyundai creta or KIA seltos.
Tata doesn't have any car in this space. They're expected to launch Curv next year(2024) for this segment, first in electric form and then in ICE form.
