Great video man. I had to replace mine in my '87 last year. I found an original oem brand new in the box with the spacer and gaskets from a Toyota dealership in Puerto Rico that was going out of business, for $25. I ordered a new one too from Napa, but put the oem from PR one in the truck. It's working fine after 2 years and about 12k miles. I get vapor lock once in a while when it's "hot" here, like 60 degrees in northern Colorado, but that's the only problem I've ever had. Thanks for posting this one!
FYI without the spacer it will absolutely break the arm off. I had to remover my oil pan gasket and retrieve the TWO broken arms from MECHANICS not putting the spacer in. Very important tip!!
thanks for the video Man, I'm working on a 78 fj40 and I was not sure how the mechanical pump was run but I was guessing it was run off the crank shaft as well. only think that makes sense to me. not much info on these old engines
@@alfonsogonzalez2628 There are a bunch of vent lines back near the filler inlet.. they go in near the filler area. You may have to remove the inspection plate under the gas fill/inlet hose area.. hope that make's since.
