Have you seen the new Toyota hydrogen engine. I mean it’s manual transmission + great sound but with hydrogen, more interesting than any EV for me.

Right now it’s almost $20 kg (about 5kg to fill up) in a hydrogen station I was able to see online. I’m currently looking to get one used as they still give $15,000 fuel card (or 3 years) for a CPO plus warranty. They have a 2021 with 25k miles asking 27,000. My only reason is to use it for ride share since I will elimínate any fuel cost.

@@johnnypovdrives California, only state that sells them. They have to be certified from the Toyota dealer. So basically all used certified Mirai come with 15,000 fuel card for 3 years.

@@Aku112811 damn, that's a crazy deal if you do a lot of miles. A bit similar to what Tesla did here when they first started selling the Model S, free life-long charging... those old Teslas are now really sought after on the second hand market :). Thanks for letting me know @Mike! 🤝

This should be the future of automobiles especially for real environmental reasons & quick fuelling times/long range etc. Not garbage TESLA electric vehicles which have limited range capability, long recharging times with limited infrastructure, panel gap issues & all the other things wrong with Teslas

Well, I just returned my first Tesla today and it didn't have the panel gap issue (ok, it's a brand new Tesla Model X, maybe it's less of an issue these days). The charging experience was the best I've had in any EV so far and I would actually prefer it to a hydrogen car. Also because hydrogen production and transport still isn't green / sustainable a lot of times. Anyway, Tesla review coming soon, maybe new hydrogen car review also. Cheers!

No, he calls it stupid because why use energy to create hydrogen when that energy can be used to power a battery electric vehicle directly? Hydrogen production is terribly inefficient (and produces greenhouse gases), storing and containing it is a total nightmare, transporting it is dangerous, being the smallest element it leaks out of everything and degrades metal pipes and tanks, it is ridiculously explosive, is odourless and burns with an invisible flame. Once it's in a car, converting it back to electricity via a fuel cell is highly inefficient, plus the product of combustion (water) freezes in cold weather. Would you want to carry that around in your car with your family? Sorry but there is no way that hydrogen cars can be economically viable or as safe as BEVs - and before you say EVs catch fire all the time, ice cars are 20 times more likely to. God knows what would happen if a hydrogen car caught fire, but you'd better be a long way away when it does.

@@wotireckonIt's massively better for the environment obviously it's clean fuel that can be made using green, nuclear and organic energy. Batteries are fucking awful for the environment and there's literally not enough rare earth metals to last us more than a few generations before we'll be stuck with hydrogen. Our great grandchildren will need these

The filling is not an issue, it's fun :). Access still is limited, depends on what region you're in, but you need to plan your travels so you don't find yourself stranded somewhere. That is not the sound of hydrogen gas but nitrogen. It is purged to ensure the negative temperature of hydrogen doesn't freeze the nozzle

thing is hydrogen cars aren’t worth it in my opinion as the car requires a giant tank to store hydrogen which will take up space and also hydrogen isn’t that cheap + if you get into an accident you go boom (only good thing that it emits water vapor)

Hey brother I just wanna say that pls never use mobile phone in a petrol or hydrogen station. The radiation in it will ignite if there is some gas leaking while filling the tank. It happened once in india , which was kinda so scary and become a rule never to use mobile phone in gas station. Hope u understand, kudos ❤️ Lots of hearts from india . I hope tata brings h2 cars in india as india needs to reduce the oil because of carpooling n pollution.

The Hyundai combines a battery EV with a hydrogen power generator / range extender I believe, and it has a gazillion horse power. Don’t think it’ll ever be sub 80k 😅
