Gearmo Auto Hi. 2011 tundra here. In my truck, just the driver door will unlock and when the problem shows, I noticed that the back left passenger door handle will not work. Handle and lock/unlock button will become loose. I’d appreciate your input

Hi. Great video. I just replaced the actuator on driver side door. Still not working. I have the same problem on the rear left door. The right side working perfect. What could it be? It's a relay? Fuse?

'08 Avalon. Locks work well when garaged. If out in hot sun for an hour or more drivers door will not unlock. Assume door lock actuator going bad?

Thanks for this video, gives me an idea on what could be my issue on my MR2 Spyder. My driver side door doesn't unlock with key on outside of car, but can after flicking the switch manually from the inside. Any idea what could be the problem? would it still be the actuator?

I have 2006 Camry. When I use the remote control, The driver's door unlocks and sometimes the other doors unlock too, but most of the time, the other doors unlock, but all of them lock. I don't know where to start. Thanks in advance for your help.

Different locks won't open or close with keyfob when it's super hot outside I think the heat maybe activate gummy gunk maybe in the power lock i.e. dirt etc can I spray something in there in the door handle maybe like white lithium grease or silicone or something that would help it? Thnks

Did the power to your window work or did it not work either? My toyota tundra 2008 does not have power to rear passenger door including windows, speaker, and locks. Any suggestions?

The electronic locks seem to work on my doors but the manual key only locks. I used to feel some resistance when turning to key to lock the driver door. Not anymore though.

Great video. Thanks! Wish it was better news but I’m having the exact symptom in my daughters 03 rav4. A click but no unlock on drivers only. Keys fine so maybe she’ll just deal with that. Not sure it’s worth a $200+ part and an afternoon of fun.

If you are cheap like me you can replace the actuator motor for around 5 bucks. It adds 30 minutes to the job but saves $200+. There are 2 different size actuator shaft lengths. I got lucky the first time. Bought extras for future repairs.

if the switch is activating the motor for the actuator, (as you can hear it) isn't it possible that the 2 sheathed cables and 2 linkage rod connection points could be needing lube ??? spray in some triflow/wd40/??

Hey man on my door from the inside when I pull trhe handle when locked to open door the lock sticks a little making you have to pull the handle twice to open it have you ever had a symptom like this and do you know a fix

Sounds like maybe the cable that attatches to the handle popped out if its spot. Try to take the panel off and look at the back of the handle and see

@Gearmo Auto Sometimes the locks on the driver's side works and other times not. Is it an actuator problem if they sometimes work...or what else do you think it might be?

Trust me it is an actuator problem. Mine conked out after 6 years. Bought my Scion new in 2014 and had it replaced under warranty.

I have a 2006 toy sienna, driver side wont stay locked while the rest lock per normal. You mention in this video you have a link in the description for the video i could use. I dont find it. If you do have it, could you shoot me the link?

I had the same issue with right front door on my Tundra. I opened the door and triggered the lock in the door jam with a srewdriver. Then I pulled the inside handle, shut the door and now all works as designed. cost - $0.00 and took 1 minute. Try this before putting out money for a new actuator.

What if you don’t hear the beep on the passenger door. I have a 2 door 2004 Solara. DS is fine, but passenger door started working intermittently, then just quit. I don’t know if DCR or actuator or if the DCR is built in the actuator as an all in one unit. Please help!

Most actuators are fully serviceable. I saved hundreds by not following this videos advice. I cleaned the little motor in my ‘07 Tacoma actuator and it fixed the problem.

No symptoms leading up to the problem. I just noticed one day that my key fob and the button inside was only unlocking the drivers side and not the passenger side door.

None of this works on my 1998 Toyota Camry LE. It makes a terrible noise. I actually had it put in after I got it. It was going to cost me more than it did to put it in to replace the auto locks. At Walmart they sell a reset kit. I might try that.

My 2002 Toyota Camry is doing the opposite. The driver's door lock always locks and unlocks. The 3 passenger door locks work about 60-75% of the time. This is with the remote and the push buttons on the doors. They all work manually. Any idea of what this could be?

+Erick Acevedo You can take the door panel off and look to see if the rods for the handle and lock are disconnected.

I have a different problem on a Toyota Camry. The unlocking works with two remote fobs for all doors. It works with the driver's door key to unlock all doors. It works from the door switches to unlock the doors. However. it does not work to lock the doors with the fob, the switches, or the driver's door key to lock the other doors. I have to manually lock each door, one by one, then I can lock the driver's door with the key. What is causing the power locking to fail on all doors, yet the power unlocking still works?

@@GEARMOAUTO oh ok.mine is same situation as your. However I did change the actuator. But aftermarket one. And still no response. I did put in aftermarket in back door but worked fine.

Have 2005 Tundra -Its not the external actuator that's bad, but the latch will not return so it can be closed ,cannot find one (except dealer ) 2006 has internal actuator so wiring plug is different, Note: can close manually be holding handle up and pushing lever back. Internal spring most likely broken -Which is not serviceable .Anybody know of place to get a 2005 0r wiring to convert a 2006.??

@@GEARMOAUTO i have the same issue . it wont lock manually or electronically. I removed the door panel and tried to look at the wires but my boyfriend broke the part it looks like a black wire that hooks on to the lock. Please help me. Its a 2005 toyota camry

Gearmo Auto the doors can only lock and unlock manually. As far as the remote or the driver side or passenger side controller, it doesn’t work. Yes I checked the fuses and batteries and it’s fine. What’s worst is my trunk is stucked in the lock position and I can’t open it! Pls advice

Try to use the key from the outside to unlock it or the knob from the inside they are separately connected one of them should be able to unlock it. Did you already try that?

All the info was here but the camera movements were very fast and jerky. If you slowed down the camera activities, speak a little slower this would be a very good video. Oh and if you can, show how you disconnected the gold bars from the yellow plastic clips.

Ugh... i have this problem with my rav4 and its only 4 years old. My driver door lock can only be locked/unlocked manually with a key. Electonics wont work but they work on the rest of the car doors. I dont know shit about cars and watching this vid was rocket science to me. Guess ill just suffer with it considering the dealership will charge me an arm and a leg to fix it. :/

Hmm. I bought my Scion brand new in 2014. The problem started manifesting about a month before this pandemic. Took my Scion to the Toyota dealer 2 weeks ago. They had the part ordered and instructed me to bring the car in after a couple of days, and the Toyota service department guys installed the faulty actuator via warranty. Never paid a thing.

I had the same issue as your car door did where you would hear it try to open the door lock, but it would not be able to. After a while, it no longer works as if it doesn't try to even open it so I believe there is no more power going into it. Should I just be the whole assembly in this case?

Replaced my 2002 RX300 door lock actuator. Accidentally closed the door before testing the lock assembly. Now the door will not open. Anyone please help me open my car door bypassing the actuator. The door of the car is shut and would not open. Hel, help!!

You did everything too fast; your camera was not synced with the instructions. You said, DO THIS, DO THAT, but you didn't show what you were doing. This is a failure on your part. Do this video again; show what you're doing & take your time.
