Love the fact that you can work on your own car! Labor fees are atrocious! All very practical upgrades and for peace of mind. There’s so many nooks and crannies in a Prius! Who knew! The inflatable kayak was a good addition to do what you love! Just because you live in a car, it doesn’t mean you have to suffer or not have any fun along the way! Embrace the journey, the destination will come whether you enjoy or not!

Yes, I saved a lot of labor fees doing all the work myself, I was quoted almost $900 in labor only to install the lift kit. Yes the kayak is a wonderful addition, thank you very much! Trying to embrace the journey

When you have to leave your dog in the car, for grocery shopping or gym shower, for instance, do you leave the a/c on for her? I recently bought a 2014 PriusV, the wagon, and now I know my dog and I could sleep in it if we needed to. I am so impressed with your resourcefulness and your willingness to share your hard-won knowledge.
@MountainSpringsAdventures

I leave the air conditioning on during the summertime for my dog unless it's like a really cloudy day or it's raining or something. Obviously during the winter time you don't need to put the AC on. Thank you very much for the compliment, I'm really glad you enjoy the videos, and yes a lot of this knowledge is definitely "hard-won" haha. Take care.

Some really great ideas here. Thanks! I’ve been camping in my Prius with my 9-year-old and our little dog, so the set up in the back is a bit different with two people sleeping there, but I’ve got some great ideas from your video. 😊 Cool to see what’s changed (and what hasn’t) from your first vid.

You are amazing. So glad to have found your channel. You are a very innovative, resourceful young man and I have learned so much from your tutorials. I have a Prius Prime and one day would like to travel in it. Learning about inverters is of interest since I'd like to Instypot my meals on the road. I am in the process of making a car tent. There are car tents sold online specifically for the Prius called Habitents but there is a back order until 2022. I will make mine and customize it to my needs. I just ordered some stiff netting and I'm going to make a screen house that fits over the back of my Prius. This is so exciting. Thank you for being an inspiration to me. 👍🤗

Thank you for the compliment, I'm so glad that you have learned some stuff and that it is helpful for you. The Prius prime is great, and yes those habitants have been back ordered for a long time now from what I understand. There are lots of options besides a habitent, you can look on amazon, they have SUV tents and other kinds of shelters. Good luck with it

@@MountainSpringsAdventures it was a 2018 SXT (most basic model). Because of the auto chip shortage, I got about $1500 more than what I paid for it new on my trade and got the L Eco Prius (also basic model). Yeah, I figure even if I don't live in it, I want to use it as an "RV" for road tripping and exploring. I still work full time but I am saving up to take an "extended vacation" haha. You and I have very similar ideas in what I want to accomplish with it. I really appreciate you sharing your experience. Maybe one day, I will do the same.

That's cool, sounds nice. I don't really know much about the new priuses. They're too expensive for me lol. Have you thought about using a "Come Along Winch"? Best thing to have since you cannot put a winch on the front like I did my old Scout.

Love your videos brother and think you are definitely helping to inspire many. I heard you mention that you dump your gas every month or so so for it not to expire. Can I ask why you dump benefit from it by putting it into your tank instead of just throwing it away? Just a thought brother. Look forward to watching your next video. Sending prayers may the lord keep you and your dog safe and well. God bless you brother 👍🙏🤗♿️

just watched a video from "The Car Car Nut" about cleaning the air filters for the Hybrid batteries. I think he said they are under the Front Drivers and Passenger side seats. He said if you clean them every 10k miles the batteries can last you 200k-300k miles.

Thanks, yes I think I've seen that exact video. But didn't he also say that the 2nd generation Prius (2004-2009) doesn't have an air filter for the battery?

Love your content you did such a great job for stealth camping you have seemed to have thought of everything you would need to do just very that and that's awesome. Thank you for taking the time and making such an informative video. What brought me to watch your video is because I am wanting to live in a car because I live in California and the rent here is insane. Right now I am paying $1,800 a month just for rent it's crazy I have to work 50plus hours a week on my primary job as well as gig jobs like DD UE etc. and I am just done lol been doing this for a few years and I am just done lol. So my last month is February this year of apartment living, and I am on the market to buy a Prius because of all the reasons you mentioned in your first video so yeah it's the best car for what I want to do. Thank you again for your video I definitely will be implementing some of your tips N tricks when I get my Prius.

If you are a single person, you can consider remove the whole back seat to build a storage cargo. And even remove the front passenger seat to make more room for storage. Any hatchback car can be modified to be a camp car, except sedan car. Of cause a van can do that too. But van consume more gas.

Yo awesome setup :) idk if anyone suggested yet, but maybe you would want to invest in a snatch block pulley system for your emergency tow setup. If you need a rundown about pulleys Smarter Everyday made a good video explaining how to use and set them up :) Looks like your are having fun out there! Have a good one, and take care!

@@MountainSpringsAdventures I don't think I can comment a link, but search on RU-vid "smarter every day pulleys" and it should be the first video :)

Question. Why not just use a 0 degree bag all the time? Could you not open it up like a blanket in the summer? Trying to decide is I really need two

Have you tried putting some slightly more aggressive tread on slightly taller tires yet? I feel like that could help a lot.

Wrap the lettuce in paper towels and place it in a paper bag. The moisture will be absorbed by the towels and bag. The lettuce will discolor some but the usability of the lettuce will be extended.

hey man love your videos, super helpful! is there one with more info on how you did the sleeping platform? I'm curious how you built it, especially where to safely screw into to avoid hitting the battery. maybe you can make a video for it!
@MountainSpringsAdventures
@MountainSpringsAdventures 3 года назад
Glad they are helpful! For the sleeping platform, I just measured the height at different spots where it was safe to screw in a screw, you can see where it's hollow underneath, and cut the 2 x 4 supports to that height.... Then put a piece of plywood on top
