Well that one is set up for competitive race specifically. You can only imagine they would drop an original 2jz-gte in it or turbo the ge properly if that were the case, but being it's a Soarer, in Japan these didn't come with the 2jz-gte, they came with the 1jz-gte as found in the MK3 Supra. In America we don't get the turbo option from factory though many people resolve that themselves. Hope that cleared things up a bit.
Right, didnt read his question too right. By the way, the Soarer came in both twin and single turbo. In my country we have Soarers and SC400s and they are both 1JZ powered. Not sure what happened there aha
If he did it right that would be a 1.5JZ engine. Head from the 2.5litre and the rest 3 litre (and hot cams and such). Our car, on a single small turbo, puts out 330hp and 650lb ft at the wheels.
I've got an S70, and pushing the small turbo on it to 15 psi got me only 230 hp to the wheels, but 340 lb ft... so I'm thinking your 650 isn't a typo, though I've never heard of such a big disparity between hp and torque on a square engine. 1) Not a typo? 2) R154? 3) What turbo?
Wow. Crazy torque... poor transmission. I'm a little surprised that the 3540 didn't make more than the 370-375 crank hp you've got before scoring you all that back-pressure twist. It's basically a GT35R with a large A/R hot side... anyway; no doubt a lot of fun.
Nice car, but that short course sux. That car needs a nice big track to unleash its true potential. It's all wasted on a small parking lot. The car +1 The track = sux
i know but makes me still wonder why there arent alot going about, i think its usually because they almost never came in a manual option (USDM version of course)
Same platform as the Supra..10% of the price. I LOVE IT!! Best kept secret in all of the motoring world! If you always wanted to build a 1,000 hp monster Supra, but didn't want to pay the dollars, this is the car for you. This is why I bought mine. I thought, "Wait, I can have the exact same car, but save 90% of my money for mods? GIMMEEEEEEEE!" Couldn't be happier with my purchase! I would recommend this car to anyone who ever wanted a Supra during the 90s.
@@ryansaraf9074 Soarers and SC300s came in both. SC400s, unfortunately, came only in auto. But -- from what I have seen -- it is not the end of the world to manual swap an SC400.
He asked about the LEXUS version which is a SC. THIS is not the Lexus, this is an actual Soarer from Japan (Notice the driver on the right side?) which the Soarer itself comes with the 1jz TT not a 2JZ. The SC300 doesn't come with turbo from factory.
Yeah the VVTi came with a single turbo. That's odd, never heard of SC400s to come with 1jz from factory, although many people swap them in. Here they come with 1UZ V8
