Just installed this in my 2019 Tundra. I had help from my youngest son and from start to finish, was about 40 mins. I watched this video numerous times before I had a weekend that was warm enough to install this. Due to watching this video numerous times, everything was a breeze.
I just installed this in my 2018 Tundra. I watched the video a few times and then used the video as I installed the box. I didn’t use the printed instructions. It took me about 2.5 hours start to finish. I’m very impressed with the fit and finish of this product. I also paid a lot less than the Amazon price by purchasing direct from the vendor. I would strongly recommend this product to all my friends. Great product!!!
How secure is the box? Its aluminum not steel right? That single cam lock scares me. I know this is for the smash and grab guy but nothing holds the corners. A screw driver or clawhammer and bend goes the top. Again i havent seen the product so im just speculating. What say see now that you have it.
I just installed this on a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro. After watching this video, I didn't even need to consult the instruction sheets. I didn't need to remove the seatbelt panels because the carpet slid out from underneath, and back in, rather easily. But I did have to remove the subwoofer, which was very easy. Careful with the push-start antenna wiring. On the 2021's the wiring runs along the forward cut line, from the center all the way to the far right edge. I did the installation myself, took my time, and got it done in about 2.5 hours.
Just bought this for my 21 Trd Pro, did you move the wiring harness or the box sits on top of it, did you put any insulation between the box and wiring harness? Can you still access the jack and wrenches? Sorry for a bunch of questions.
This thing fit perfectly. Probably one of the best RU-vid videos I’ve ever watched for installation. Testing fit perfect in my 2017 Toyota tundra TRD max crew . I highly recommend.
Just installed this in my 2019 Tundra. I’m very happy with the purchase and fit all the way around! Very impressed and would recommend this to anyone looking for extra space in their Tundra.
@@saintslax12 honestly no! A few things I did was I had all weather rear mats and I believe the manufacturer was gator. I took the provided template and outlined over the floor mats that run the entire or majority length under the rear seat. Then cut the carpet and foam also. The box/kit comes with heavy duty seat brackets that are stronger than the stock. Torqued those down. Sat the gun box in and bolted it leaving my all weather floor mat to run underneath the lip of the gun box. If I needed to vacuum under the mat I would flip the front side towards the front of the cab up. I honestly didn’t notice a bit of difference in the cab being noisier at all! It’s a snug fit but it looked legit and functioned perfectly. Keep the carpet you cut and throw that layer inside the box also. Atleast that’s what I did.
Great instructional video. Install was easy and straightforward. I did not have to remove the two rear panels or disconnect the battery. The carpet easily slid out and back in with no problems.
Just installed this in my wife's 2016 Tundra. Video was very helpful. I did not have to remove the side molding. I was able to pull the carpet out and push it back under when putting everything back. Did have to remove the foot sill to release the carpet on the side just like in the video. Thanks for making this video, helped alot.
Finishing this up on my dads 1794 2017 Tundra tomorrow! We also had to remove the JBL subwoofer behind the seat to get the carpet up but it was as easy as 3 10mm bolts and a plug. Can’t wait to see this thing getting some use!
Just installed it on my 2020 SR5 crewmax watch the video to do the install all went well till the last 2 screws in the bottom of the box the hole was half way covered from the box used a drill to make the hole a little bigger now it fits perfect
I just installed mine in my 2020 Crewmax. The only thing that is not in this video but is mentioned in the instructions is the box for the key fob remote. When you first see it, don't panic. With the new mounting brackets, the box will sit right over the remote box. I installed mine with a moisture barrier underneath because I saw that was one possible problem with a steel box was drawing moisture and cut the carpet I cut out to line the bottom of the box. It took about 3 hours total by myself. Keep going and stay calm. Good luck
What moisture barrier? How did you place the moisture barrier? Just lay it on top of the remote box? Tape it to the bottom of the steel box? I have a 2020 and this might be useful for my install which I will do soon.
That’s a cool idea if you want a locking storage. I love your brackets and would to have all four changes out and have open storage under the seat. I hate that Toyota added the pointless foam under neither. Mine will be removed this weekend. I hope someday you guys decide to start selling just the brackets as an option.
it bolted down by 2 bolts inside into the inner seat rails, but there's 4 large horseshoe shaped slots that lock onto all 4 seat rails. in order to get the box up they would have to rip both the small bolts, as well as all 4 front seat mounting bolts, and rip the sheet metal on all 4 collars on the box apart. the box is never coming out with the seats in. i am installing one as i type this, and it's way more solidly placed than it looks.
Yes, the torque settings for the seat bolts are in the instructions. However, in my experience installing these, Toyota is not very good at torquing the bolts. some have been so tight I had to use an impact to get the bolts loose and some just used a regular socket and ratchet.
Semper Fi Devil Dog. I see your question is 3 months old but I just installed this in my 2019 Tundra TRD Pro and no problems. So, if a Naval Aviator can do it, I'm sure it'll be no problem for a Marine. One tip regarding the last two screws that secure the box to the decking. Those screws are going into the seat rails you replaced earlier. Those seat rails have play in them during install so if your holes don't line up at the end, don't freak out or go drilling out the box holes. You can reach under the carpet to loosen the front bolt and align the holes. Harder to explain that it is to actually do.
I have a 2021 tundra, with a push start. In some videos out it show that there a harness on the center foam. Do anyone out there know if this will fit my truck?
Mr_ NutZ toyota doesn't add underneath storage so you can have a flat load floor if you need to load precious cargo into the cab, such as a TV or something
Alex Tran if that’s the case then they should have just made it completely flat like the Ford F-150. either way Tundra is still a better truck not in the cool gadgets but in quality and reliability
Definitely not a one man job, especially if you’re older like me. PITA to get the larger seat back in the cab of my ‘21 CM Limited by myself along it, and get the bolts in place. I could have used a helper, but no one was around. Oh well… nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Boom Bero no you can’t. There is a part in the video that I explained the difference in the oem brackets and ours. The oem’s are a full length channel where ours are square tube and plate.
I have a 07 tundra crewmax..I like to get one box..do you guys have one for the 07- 13 crewmax or the 14- 20 crewmax long gun box fit also..like to get one..hate to carry the gun case around.
Looks like you could make that floor flat by replacing the old rails with the flat ones that you all make. It makes me think toyota left those rails because their old design was for a seat that slid up and down over those rails.
Interesting box. They steal the truck and are able to pry the door open in minutes. just keeps honest people honest. It makes your truck more desirable to steal.
C’mon man this is for smash and grab guys. These new trucks are a pain the steal anyhow. Especially mine with accelerator shut off from sprint booster.
Are you joking? No way I've got time, skill or patience for something like that. I'd dick something up for sure. All for what? To transport long guns? Nope.
How about 2gen Tundras? Not bad mouthing any Tundra but I would put a new engine in my 2gen before I would buy a 3gen, they have shit for storage space.
