The TRD Pro should definitely be a 2 1/2 to 3 inch lift. The fact you make it a 1 inch shows that you really dont fully understand offroading. Plus they should have a swaybar disconnect. All your competitors put proper size lifts and sway bar disconnects. I totally get you're trying to save gas but ultimately if someone wants to offroad they're going to have to sacrifice gas. And I'm not talking about crazy rock crawling but the typical moderate trails people will encounter.
Nothing new in 2019 4Runner. It has been the same since 2014 with just new colors every year. It still has decade old 5 speed transmission with terrible gas mileage.
Boring! Boring! Same ole same ole. Come on Toyota! Cosmetic changes does not make a new Tacoma. (adding a snorkel) Also, white again. You have showcased the Tacoma in white at the Chicago auto show for the last three years. Same engine displacement and the same type of transmission, no increase in horsepower or gas mileage in the last 10 to 15 years. What good does it do to build a new engine if if it doesn't improve gas mileage, horsepower or towing capacity. I love Toyota Tacomas I have a 2004 with a factory supercharger. I have been wanting to buy a new Tacoma for years but, why? The new Tacoma's are not better then mine, they are only newer. Toyota needs to do something big, superchargers, diesel engines, anything. It could not hurt gas mileage, it is already terrible. Drum brakes? no heated or electronic adjustable seats. Here in Denver, dealerships are selling the TRD 4x4 for 42k and 50k for the TRD Pro. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You are probably saying "Why change the Tacoma if everyone is buying it." Look around, the competition has caught up. This is America, we want it all, and we want it big, fast, powerful, etc. They have the technology and the know how to do it. I am a big Toyota fan, but did you see the new Raptor Ranger? it has a twin turbo charged diesel engine with a 10 speed transmission with paddle shifters. It also looks a lot better inside and out. I might be jumping the fence and changing over to the Ranger Raptor. I apologize in advance, this is not meant to attack or step on anyone's toes. I am just voicing my opinion. I am very disappointed in the current evolution of the Tacoma.
I agree, Toyota has fallen asleep at the wheels. They know their reliability is big draw for buyers. Their 4runner sales has been increasing so logic would say well its selling so nothing wrong with it. But what Toyota doesnt realize is , its because theres not much competition for 4runner which is why people are having to just buy it.
