The engine might be in a limp mode. Do u have any warning lights on the speedometer. Have u checked your coil packs n the connectors on the coil packs.

10w40 is for old High milage cars. The reason u should not use 10w40 is because its too thick for modern car. Drain the 10w40 n replace it with 5w30 fully synthetic.

@@steverobinson1854 If you plan to keep the car long term you should DRAIN the fluid NEVER flush the fluid. Remove transmission pan and clean the magnet thoroughly of any metal parts. MEASURE the amount of fluid you drained and put that EXACT amount back in. Facing towards the car with bonnet open if the laft hand side of the engine is sold aluminium n u can't see the plastic cover on the sides of engine meaning its cam chain. All yaris r cam chain.

This car was not automatic.

I would change any auto trans at 80,000m not more than 100,000m BUT use the original Toyota AFT. I think in the MK2 it WS fluid not TYPE4.

1.0 petrol engine oil capacity is 3.2 litres n 1.3 petrol has the oil capacity of 3.7 litres
