My mom has an old Toys R Us Halloween commercial from '84. It starts out the same way, but it shows the Gizmo (from Gremlins) and the He-Man costumes. If you notice, a lot of Halloween costumes back then were the same: plastic mask with a vinyl two-piece body. They didn't really start getting fancy til the late 80s.
Milhouse: Check it out Lisa! I'm Radioactive Man! Lisa: I don't think the real Radioactive Man wears a plastic smock with a picture of himself on it! Milhouse: He would on Halloween!
Frank Romano the artist at Ben Cooper probably didn't a color shot of Yoda from FOX and assumed or was told that the color would be blue instead of green. Most costumes back then were made while the movie was still in production so changes would be made long after the costume was made and ready to be shipped out after release of film.
boy do I remember those god awful boxed Ben Cooper costumes. The mask barely looked like the character and as for the body costume.....yeah, a plastic bib that says Yoda or whatever character one was supposed to be. From what I hear these vintage costumes are worth quite a bit.
I miss the old ugly fronts of Toys R us, and icky looking costumes that were cool because they were from a store and not something your mom wiped up at home.
Lol At The Ending: NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER! NEVER EVER WHAT IT A CHICKIN NUGGET FROM THE FLOOR LOL WHAT THE HELL THAT WAS THE MOST STUPIDEST COMMERCIAL EVER LOL
The McDonald's Chicken McNuggets ad that follows this would likely be around October 1982 since Toys "R" Us revamped their ad (that we see first) in the years 1983-85, with a new 1983 copyright.
Fans of both this holiday and Christmas will be shopping at Ollie's Bargain Outlet these days. This store occupies many of the former "Toys R Us" locations in twenty-three particular American states.
It's called theres never never never ever ever never ever been such chicken before McDonald's commercial 1981 heres link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BuTvQ8bhPVw.html
The Toys "R" Us ad may be copyrighted 1980, but the commercial following it, for McDonald's Chicken McNuggets, dates from at least 1983 for that was the year of the introduction of that product. It seems TRU recycled this animated Halloween ad for roughly five years, the only difference being the live-action parts (featuring the Halloween-themed items they were selling in the 1980-85 period).
three problems 1. Big Bird is Green 2. They said Big Bird was from the Muppets (corner) 3. Yoda is blue! LOL this commercial fails :P jk it's pretty cool *_*
