Awesome product. I set mine up in my garden office which is 15 meters away from the main router in the lounge in my house. I tried and tested many ways to set up this device. It works best when you plug the small tp link adapter in a mains wall outlet. I plugged the bigger device (wi fi booster) into an extension power strip in my office. It worked but I had much reduced speed, I then switched it over to a wall mains outlet and I was getting almost maximum speeds. I have sky fibre broadband with a maximum speed of 36mb. I was getting 29 to 31mb on the speed test website and that was using WiFi on my macbook pro. When I switched over to an ethernet cable I was getting 34mb. A good tip is, don't plug any of the tp link devices into a surge protector strip as it hinders its performance.

You don’t have to plug them in the same outlet or power strip to sync them. I plugged mine where they’re supposed to go, one upstairs and one downstairs, as long as you hit pair within 2 minutes. Only thing I don’t like is it only has 2.4G for WiFi.

@@NUTZJ98 Don’t get me wrong, I loved this device when I was using it. What I’m trying to say, to let everybody know, as a WiFi extender it only has 2.4GHz. I agree to a point, yes 5GHz has crappy signal range, but it’s a faster connection. I game and was lagging often, even disconnecting sometimes. That’s why I bought this in the first place, to alleviate my connection issue. But now I moved to a house where it’s more open, and to my surprise my 5GHz is noticeably faster than using this.
@galkawarrior
@galkawarrior 2 года назад
@@chunkysnail9351 perhaps he’s just doing a demo, but the information I put out is for the mass. Someone who don’t know how to set it up might follow his motions step by step, which is not wrong, but it’s an unnecessary step.

@@recgraph My apologies, I don’t get what you mean by this comment. Anyway, to those who may have misinterpreted my initial post, this is a good product, I actually bought one because of this video, but I don’t recommend it for gamers, my 5GHz WiFi has faster connection compare to this even when I was using this hard wire connected. If you’re going to use it as a WiFi extender don’t be disappointed that it only has 2.4GHz WiFi frequency. If you don’t need a WiFi extender and want to stay with the same brand, I can’t say I can recommend it because I haven’t bought one, but the AV1000 has dropped in prices and it connects up to 1G connection.

If you are happy at 20Mbps (or much less), this is it. It works better for single phase than 3-phase elect system. My similar tp link kit (non gigabit Ethernet ports) delivered 70Mbps up and 25 down (paired just next to each other) for having 300 up and 50 down subscription. My best speed became 5 up and 7 down after tested for 10 elect power supply point (3-phase). Better than nothing at far locations, 2-floor house 330 m².

Is that because of the Dynamic Frequency Selection? (DFS is an auto-on function that cannot be enabled on Web GUI) I'm not sure but maybe your front-end router was using a DFS channel that your Range Extender does not support and if that's the case you may re-select a channel that is among U-NII-1(36/40/44/48..)

Great tutorial but I have a question. Someone advised me to use this in my customers houses to connect their solar inverters to the household wifi because when they change their router as long as the master end was plugged back into the new router the solar inverter would auto connect to the router, no need to edit the AV 600 to the new router (I would have the receiver end hard wired aswell)

I have this unit which I use to run WiFi to my garden shed, works great but recently I've noticed that it loses signal most evenings? Perfect during the day. Any clue what could be causing it? It's not that there are many people in my home during the evening using WiFi either which may drain it? Thanks

Should I set the ssid for the power line adapter as the same as my 2.4gz network or my 5gz network? Also, I put my receiving adapter on a power strip bc there is no wall outlet next to my router, will that impact the amount of speed it transfers to the receiving adapter ? Ty in advance for anyone that helps

So once you put your Internet details in the WiFi part, do you still have to connect to it? Or will it now just switch over automatically? Many thanks 😊

I'm legit downloading the most at 3.9 and up to 3.8 when others use Netflix in the house... Was going to buy the TP-Link AV2000 Powerline Ethernet because I don't want to take the chance of slow internet when I'm playing online gaming (cod warzone), but worried about interfering with other peoples wi fi usage... when I plug this in to the router will it mess up other people that use wifi?

If your wiring in your house has different rings but runs ti the same consumer unit will the t p links still work in all the rooms

On another YT video it says that if you clone your network on the extender, as long as your target device can find the existing WiFi, it will select that over the extended WiFi unlike a mesh that chooses the closest stronger extended signal. So, by not cloning your network, you can manually choose which network to connect to and avoid this problem. Also you don't address if the power sockets are from different power groups.

If you change your WiFi network and password on the tplink to your own would that also mean your printer would automatically connect and work without having to set it up with the tplink WiFi network and password?

Can you use the wifi extender on one device while it is plugged into another device with a ethernet cable?
@jadesmith8106
@jadesmith8106 4 года назад
Yes, probably, but why would you? If the device is close enough to the extender to be plugged in, it is close enough to receive its WiFi signal.

If i have a weak WiFi connection (share of 5) could this strengthen my speed if connected via ethernet? Trying to get connection in my room to my PC and wondering if it will help with Bandwidth or if speed will pretty much stay the same

Idk how this work but, can I plug this with an ethernet cable then through my pc upstairs, regarding that my router is rooted downstairs and so is immovable. Im considering whether to buy this or not since I have the net dyn wireless adapter . But this wireless adapter is able to disregard my pc’s responsiveness And so couldnt shut down my pc properly

I use the model in the video for my PS4 Pro and my gaming PC as it has 2 ethernet ports which is all I need. It works amazingly. Before on my 5GHz bandwidth WIFI I would get speed of 10mb down and 5mb up with unpredictable latency. Now I get a solid 40mb down and 10mb up with very good latency. It also gives 2.4GHz bandwidth WIFI which is nice for my devices without ethernet ports. I definitely recommend this model.
