Nice overview of the features, but you didn't answer the question is it borked? Thought you were going to talk about the built-in spyware, all of the ridiculous DNS requests it puts out there in the background. Seen that reddit? What do you make of it, good Sir?
@@evetechtv the Reddit thread is called "[PSA] Newer TP-Link Routers send ALL your web traffic to 3rd party servers" but I have noticed after doing some research that it apparently is only applicable to the routers having the "HomeShield" e.g. Avira antivirus feature and that the original Reddit was specifically about the AX50. There have also been relatively recent reports (say that 3 times fast 😛 ) of TP-Link in general being lacking in security in general (some of their year or two older models had a Telnet vulnerability) which make me wonder if this company takes security seriously but idk, it seems like they have been releasing patches so maybe they aren't so bad.
@@ketoninja I have an old Archer C1200 that had this vulnerability, but they patched it. It also had NetUSB vulnerability, and it was also patched (after over 2 years of not getting any updates for the router). TP-Link is quick to end the life of their routers and change hardware configs depending on location. For instance the AX20 have a quad core in some places and a dual core in others. You need to research the specs a lot. I hate that about tplink.
on behalf of all ISPs, PLEASE DO NOT press RESET button when you have Internet issues!! you would save a lot of headaches and terrible cramps from clients
