No argument from me on TQL. I had limited dealings with them when I had my own authority. Then while leased to landstar I told upfront to every agent that if this was a TQL load that I would not pick it up under any circumstances. I even had it in my truck profiles and information. Had 2 agencies try me. Left them hanging. Got the call from landstar corporate I explained to them told them that it was even in my truck imfo and nothing happened. I don't wish bad things on people but TQL is the exception. 😊 Good for you Tim on calling them out. What are they going to do. Blacklist you well you already are. Absolutely no loss.
I told them they were knowingly trying to force me to break handsfree regulations, that during my drive time do not force me to call, or during my off duty and sleeper time. They did anyway I pulled over answered said well this will cause a delay. They repeated this, when called me on sleeper time I went to on duty and notes reported talking to tql who keeps interrupting sleeping time. Load was 2 days late and they were forced to pay 500 for each extra day. Took w years to get it and they could not use it against us for future work. So yea stand up for yourselves
the SAME thing happened to me. a few weeks ago. now I've been working with them since 2012. never an issue. my O/O has been with me almost 2 years and ran quite a few for them. all of a sudden they want a lease agreement. I asked why? he is under my insurance as is his truck. they "want to see how he gets paid". I told them its not their business especially that he's ran for them more then I have in the past year and a half. all loads delivered, never an issue. that was not good enough. well needless to say.. I'm done with TQL.
One particular time, out of Utah: they woke me up friday morning to pick up by 2 pm, " was ready they said, nothing..... willing to pick up next morning on Saturday..... nope.... was not ready....same agent called me Monday morning to see if i was available for the same freaking load, by then I was already dropping in LAX . ( They want you to commit to the load for days without any compensation wasting time and resources)
We have similar issues with TQL. They are looking for reasons not to use carriers. What comes around goes around, just remember when they need trucks don't work with them. :P
Ever get a charge back after delivery that was all good and on time ? I had 2, both were long hauls from Massachusetts to Alabama, never again..$3,500 each time...cant recover from those financial set backs quick enough
Tql is still in business? I’d rather work for a company than be an o/o and have to get a load from them. They are not even an emergency deal for me as I’ll dead head home 500 miles before I haul for them regardless of what they offer. Cant trust them at all.
Well i pulled 3 loads in 5 years TQL. NO problems. Now i dont know how it is for management to deal with them but no problems on my end. The company i retired from was established in 1983 dont know if that had anything to do with it or not. All 3 loads were loads were used to return to get contract pepsi loads back out. All 3 were were shortys. I only ran the short game .
Yeah we had some serious issues with this towards the first of this year we couldn't hardly load anything it was bad then all of a sudden I got 2 inspections back to back same week and then one of our other o/o got an inspection and we had no issues after that but it really doesn't matter now because we said screw the brokers and got our own customers now we rarely use brokers unless they have something really good witch is rare comparing our direct rates to spot rates get direct customers Tim you will not regret it
My only issue with TQL is their van rates are typically low unless they need something moved, then they got money. But in my opinion they are a professional run company. I can always get someone on the phone, they are always prompt and they always pay on time. I’ve had worst experience with other brokers. Your mileage may very.
I was leased on with an other company and jb hunt did the same thing to who I was leased on at the time and tql, well they don't pay to well when you try and negotiate a fair rate and in the description on a particular load you may be looking at they will say oh well that load you have to tarp, well if you put that in the description that would be helpful but that's just an example of the particulars they leave out because they know no one wants that load if they put it in the description and they just constantly lie a lot for example you call up on a load well that loads been booked but we got this other one over here well first of all then take it off the board , another example and these thing go on with them every single day !!!
I'm no o/o, but I have been driving since late 70's. Same small company in business since 60's, and every now and then use TQL. No issues that haven't been resolved. Sounds like 1 or more of your drivers or lease operators, or lease purchasers or whatever started this ball rolling. Keep poking a bear with a stick and they will turn on you. Move on young man, don't get consumed with it. It will eat you up.
One time echo blacklisted us cause we hadn’t had a level one in like 10 years, thought we were a fake carrier, no just have nice trucks and don’t get bothered by dot….
And you keep going back...... also if you have hired brokers, and you don't own the trucks? You are double brokering..... just went through it with another company.....
Dont be 5 min late or they deduct 500 from your pay. Literally. Horrible business...they charge 500 but thats a come up bc the broker keeps the 500. They dont send it back to shippers and reciever...tql is trash
So your driver gave them his llc company name? If so your driver is the dummy, should have been giving your company name. Sounds like your driver doesn’t know how to talk to brokers
