This was of Great help! Latest version of FT8CN gives possibility to select TruSDX in two modes , audio over CAT or TS-480 emulation mode. First is the proffered way. Haven't tested the second one.
How do you know which Baud Rate to chose? Answer my own question (thanks). Baud Rate here is not the same as my TTY repair days. It adjusts automatically when you select your rig in the settings. The app is connecting but my waterfall etc disappears. Probably a firmware update or setting in the (tr)uSDX I was not in practice mode!
So, which beta version do we need to install to get this working? I've currently got 2.00i, which I think is the current release. Do I just install the latest beta?
I'm getting a connection error in the app? Even if I do get it working this is too buggy and unreliable for trail friendly QRP in my experience. The CW is great and I'll have to try SSB. I just configured developer mode( tap on build number) I will try changing default settings for USB. That said, I'm losing my patience for this. My setting did say no data transfer, I changed that, see how it goes. If that is the issue? It should be front and center, not buried in a sea of crap.
Fantastic video, thanks for going over this. I was hoping the beta firmware would work with CAT control on FT8CN but didn't find a whole lot online about it. Planning on using this for some POTA activations soon, thanks for spending the time on this.
Thanks for the kind comment! I’m planning on going out and recording an activation with this soon with my new POTAble EFHW here in Austin. Glad the video was useful, I didn’t find a video out there, so I made one! -73 K5CHA
First question, did you do a follow up video? Second, how do you determine a contact was made? I haven't been successful with USB only. I do have to updated (tu)uSDX firmware. Thanks!
Great Video, Please report back on your activation. I have been thinking about getting a (tru)uSDX for when I travel. I am curious if you need some ferrite between the phone and radio.
@@abrahamnehemias-xt2qd I was able to do a activation down at the creek, but I didn’t record it. I’m away from my radios right now, but I will def get an activation up soon with a full test with the new beta too
That's what I get also, seems too buggy for trail friendly QRP except CW, I haven't tried SSB yet. Git Hub has this same topic with no definitive answers.
