Modern art has become Design as an end in itself.

So glad to watch this as it reflects so many issue I have with modern art. A friend of mine recently returned to Australia from the USA and said she visited some Art Galleries. She saw some Modern Art and felt at a loss as to how she felt about it saying there were things like installations and other "stuff" she had no idea about what it was saying. She didn,t have the patience to try and figure it out so ignored it. She referred to it as CRAP ART. I thought about this and it occurred to me how many people refer to Modern,Contemporary Art as CRAP ART. Maybe I solved your problem just call their stuff CRAP ART and the GOOD Stuff FINE ART so that the general public know what to expect when they go to a Gallery. There, problem solved .

1h22min49s: Polish cavalry never attacked tanks - neither during WW1 or WW2. They were attacking infantry and enemy cavalry with extraordinary efficiency. Germans and Soviets of course also had theirs cavalry, which was blown to dust by the Polish cavalry. The false image was a Goebbelsian propaganda (movies: „Feldzug in Polen” and „Kampfgeschwader Lützow”), which - repeated many times - turned into a myth. This myth was aimed to make Poles looking foolish and was used by the Nazis and the Soviets. It was popular in the west because it was exotic. The journalist of "Corriere della Sera" - Indro Montanelli - had a large share in this. Later, after almost 60 years, he admitted that he lied. After the WW2 the communist' servant, Andrzej Wajda, in his movie „Lotna” copied this silly motive in order to make blowjob to the Soviet communist regime (occupying afterwar Poland) that made him later worldwide known director.

Why do these artists care so much about art history and critics/philosophers? It's as if they are always asking permission to be themselves from people and ideas long dead. Get rid of these corpses, this burden of knowledge does you absolutely no good. The art establishment turned its back on you, why do you keep knocking on their door and begging for acceptance?

Because caring is the opposite to apathy and is absolutely worth dedicating a lifetime to. It's interesting that you read it like that. And that you found your way to this video. And to leaving a comment. You're absolutely their target audience, not necessarily the Modern Establishment.

Because these people are resentful, disgruntled, and feel personally offended. They're a bunch of conservatives who think Western civilization took a turn to decadence in the 1700s because it abandoned a handful of values they hold dear or sacred. So even though nobody's stopping these artists from creating art in whatever fashion they wish, they still feel a sick need to correct the rest of the world that has moved on from their notions of "beauty" marooned in the 1700s. For them it's not just about making art; it's about fighting a culture war, it's about proving their enemies wrong, it's about destroying them, it's about about healing civilization. It's hubristic as hell, and I imagine bound to failure, but, once again, nobody can stop them from doing it; and so long as they don't hurt anyone, it's okay. It's their lives they're wasting.
