The controversy had something to do with feminism and the poses Tracer had when the game came out (Gleefully presenting her bubble butt if I remember correct. Excuse me if I've been mistaken about that one since it's been a while)
Something about a person's daughter playing the Beta and he was disappointed Blizzard included such a pose/character and how Tracer should be a female role model and not sexualized. And then it blew up further than that They removed the emote but funny enough there's a similar one in the game + Tracers outfit didn't change
The pose wasn't even that bad. It was more cool pose from Sideview. And 1 person lost their shit and QQed and made it a thing. And then twitter feminist lost their shit. With 0 idea what they where talking about
I never really took JT music's Rap battle's seriously, but they're entertaining as hell. They are very fun to watch and I am glad you're reacting to them. I also never knew they did an updated animation version of Tracer V Scout. So thanks for posting this video, now I gotta go over there and show some love and appreciation. Much love, friends
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 Mostly just TF2. They kept claiming that Overwatch was a copy of TF2. Apparently they think that they are the only team-based shooter which uses a class system. It was a really stupid rivalry.
When Overwatch came out, this bizarre fan rivalry broke out between Scout and Tracer. They essentially filled out the same roles on their respective games, fragile speedsters with high close-range burst damage and utility that cranked up their already-high mobility. Unfortunately Overwatch's popularity started to die down, causing the rivalry to vanish almost as quickly as it started. I've seen a lot of your Death Battle reactions, but I can't recall if you watched Tracer and Scout's fight. If not, I would recommend it just to see how wildly similar yet different the two are. As for the butt controversy, characters in Overwatch have a... Particular design to them. Female characters in particular tend to wear crazy tight outfits, such as Tracer and Widowmaker. Tracer was designed with emphasis on her legs, as she was meant to look really slick and cool when doing any kind of running animations. If you ever saw Disney's animated Tarzan film back in the day, the way they animated his body to do slick movements in just a mesmerizing way... That was the goal with Tracer because of her blinking teleports and nimble footwork. Now, all of that being said, the end result was an attractive young British girl with an attractive accent and a playful personality wearing pants so tight you couldn't fit a nickel into with a specific amount of focus and detail on her thighs and butt. Her win poses after a match also usually had her back to the camera, again putting emphasis on her butt. Naturally, the internet did an internet and social media got super upset about Tracer's body, calling it sexist, unrealistic, just overall rioting over her "assets". I think this happened on two separate occasions in fact, causing her win poses to be edited and... I don't recall if the dev team did anything else to her beyond that, honestly. Oh, and the porn. Overwatch caused a tidal wave of porn to flood the internet due to how hot most of their cast was. The devs tried to claim this was horrible and should not be endorsed by any means... As they released new alternate outfits that made an elderly woman in the cast younger, revealed more skin for some of the girls, tightened looser clothing at times, it was weird. It was just weird. There is more to this whole debacle, but I can't remember all of it. I'm sure other commenters can fill in blanks, or if the topic continues to be of interest to you down the line then I guarantee there are videos covering it on RU-vid that would be worth a reaction.
A huge bit about the Overwatch porn controversy was that Blizzard took down a bunch of animations that were actually using in-game assets instead of fan made models. I know absolutely nothing about IP Laws but evidently that's a big no-no.
@@VernulaUtUmbra For the animators, or for Blizzard? Because if they were using Blizzards in-game assets, then I think Blizzard have the right to take them down, as long as the animators gave credit where credit is due.
I love these guys 100% would recommend most of their music. The controversy was surrounded around one of Tracers poses in game called "over the shoulder" blizzard got shade thrown at them for the pose being oversexualized so they had to change the pose.
Yay, glad to see y’all are checking out JT Music! You guys gotta watch their Thanos vs Darkseid rap battle. It was made specifically for the Thanos vs Darkseid Death Battle!
Yes please do more JT Music and other Nerdcore artists. They do songs about video games, animes, movies, and TV Shows. I love a lot of Nerdcore artists. Please do more.
I don't remember the details, but Tracer had a victory pose that showed off her ass. It honestly wasn't bad at all, and it's not like Tracer has much ass. That suit is tight though, like there's crack definition. There was also a point early on where blizz was like NO OVERWATCH PORN! Idk if that had anything to do with it, but shortly after the victory pose was removed.
Jt music is one of the best music producers I've heard for gaming. You should definitely check out their Assassins creed, redemption 2 and resident evil village music if you want. Those are my favourites.
Jt honestly got me into this music, they have a lot of great songs, I definitely recommend their animated Bendy and the ink machine:can’t be erased or animated Cuphead raps, & they are little nightmares & BioShock songs are also some of my favorites
The axx controversy was because, at the launch of Overwatch (or maybe in beta), Tracer had a victory pose in which she would look at the player over her shoulder while jutting her hips in a way that really put her "back assets" on display. Obviously parents associations and self-proclaimed social warriors dusted off their pitch forks and their torches and Blizzard was forced to remove it.
It wasn't even parents associations. It was just 1 guy who wrote them an email complaining about it. The players at large only cared about it after Blizzard removed it. Kind of a Streisand effect.
I'd recommend watching Dark Souls 3 rap battle before 1, because Dark Souls 1 rap battle was made for the remaster after 3's came out and has a callback to 3
Oh JT music, I’m surprised you decided to listen to them, I suggest the other Overwatch vs TF2 rap battles, personally my favourites are Sombra vs Spy and Medic vs Mercy
Basically Internet and Twitter didn't like one booty winpose Tracer did (which was kinda dumb to get mad about it since Ive seen less tamer winposes than that) and did their usual tantrum for no reason except pure dislike.
The controversy about her butt: In the game, all characters have poses they can make. When the game came out, Tracer had a pose of her looking back showing off her butt at little bit. A player wrote an email to Blizzard saying the pose was needlessly sexualized, so Blizzard replaced that pose with a different one. Fans accused Blizzard of being lame and of hypocrisy (since other characters like Widowmaker are sexualized). This sparked a controversy about feminism in gaming and artistic expression.
You guys should react to one punch man it’s my most favourite anime of all time it’s just amazing it’s also kinda a parody of the genre. Oh and also maybe lobo vs ghost rider death battle.
It was a good battle but if had to pic one I would say scout I like tracer but when she said “I can run for hours” and the scout “not whiout youre powers ups” basically end it all for me! XD Plus the hall “my butt dint start a controversy” was because tracer had a wining pose that made her show her butt and apparently and we’ll shit happened.
